Our visit to Kylemore Abbey turned out to be more than expected. We were in time for the short tour and history of the building, with the ground floor open to the public. There's a romantic story I'd never heard before and the story of The...More

This is a truly stunning building with a romantic history set in gorgeous countryside. However, there is not much to see inside the building. Better to spend your time in the serene church, and take the shuttle bus to the walled garden. The cafe is...More

Overall it's worth visiting, very nice setting and well maintained. Not as much of the Abbey open to explore as I expected but nice none the less.

That sight was one of my favorites on my 1-week bus tour through Ireland. Amazing landscape! You might think that you are in a fairy tale world. The gardens and building seem to be from a different world.

A wonderful day out. With the really nice Victorian gardens as well as the Abbey to visit this is a great venue to spend a day at while enjoying the wonderful scenery while travelling here.

Absolutely stunning setting, worth stopping to view from the café, I was a little disappointed with the entry fee as the house itself only had a couple of rooms open, unlike many national trust properties I have recently visited. The gardens were nice (there is...More

If in the area you must not miss this place. The tour of the Abbey was a bit short for my taste, but evidently the nuns have their say about it. Beautiful gardens and easy access by shuttle bus.

Excellent attraction and not to be missed. Not sure if suitable for travellers with limited mobility. Car park located away from the Abbey and the Gardens and can be difficulty for elderly and infirm. There is a shuttle bus that picks up from the visitor...More

This is a must see if you are in this area. There is a charge to get in but it is well worth the money. The view of the castle across the lake is stunning and the gardens have been restored to their original state...More

We just got tickets when we arrived. It wasn't crowded but we were there in May. Yes, there were many visitors (even a few bus fulls) but it's spacious enough not to be crowded, except in the house. The gardens are amazing... More
