A big thank you to the staff of Zip world Llechwedd Slate caverns - we had a really fun time at Bounce Below with all the children's friends and their parents, and then had lunch in the restaurant afterwards. The food was great, the staff were ever so helpful - both in organising the menu choices in advance (we were... More

We booked the early bird tour which is cheaper than the others as we live locally so it wasn't a long trek for us. We were extremely impressed by how the place is run & the staff were informative, helpful & friendly. And what shone through was the affection & pride that they had for the attraction. Justly so. Our... More

Our guide Brian made our visit extremely interesting especially the fact that he had actually worked in the mine for 10years. He was very knowledgeable and could answer any questions asked of him. The youngest member of our group thought it was awesome. The rest of the staff that we met where very polite and welcoming and we will definitely... More

Our guide, Brian, made our visit so interesting. He worked in the mine until it closed, and explained all about the life of the miners underground, the equipment they had (or didn't have) and the methods they used. Unbelievable that the enormous caverns were all hacked out by hand by individual families. With a lot of personal memories and anecdotes... More

My girlfriend and myself booked this tour despite thinking that the admission fee may be a little on the high side, however we both thoroughly enjoyed it, it really was worth every penny. Our guide Brian, an ex-slate miner himself showed us through various areas of the mine and its workings explaining in detail the work and conditions that those... More

We are a family of 4 with 2 kids aged 10 and 12. We had come specifically to go to Bounce Below. It was a mega fun unique experience - an hour's bouncing, sliding and scrambling on nets and through tubes. The staff are really relaxed but have definitely 'got your back'. We saw an advert for the Deep Mine... More

Can't thank Brian enough for being our tour guide today. Trying to explain this experience to someone who hasn't been will never do it justice. When you realise that the ground under the mine was solid rock - and then you walk into the most enormous cavern to be shown just how they dug said cavern out your jaw will... More

Informative fun experience, very well run. Got on the 1st tour of Saturday morning and it was cheaper (early bird). Good bit of history.

Had a really great time here today, the deep mine tour took about 1hrs 30min, our tour guide was Brian who was excellent - very informative, good with younger ones of the group. He had excellent knowledge of the mine as had previously worked there. We booked an early bird tour getting tickets for half the price also under 3's... More

Starting the trip with dressing in the provided overalls and hard hats you start your decent by a small train. Deep into the caves with the luxury of electricity we could really appreciate the vast amount of mining the young men would have worked so hard to achieve all them years ago. Our guide was very passionate about her local... More
