Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

**Review: Arabati Baba Teke**

Arabati Baba Teke is an authentic and serene religious site of the dervishes. The atmosphere is peaceful and spiritual, offering a glimpse into the dervish traditions. The dervish himself is incredibly friendly and engaging; we had a delightful chat about various topics, which added a personal and enriching touch to the visit. Highly recommended for anyone interested in cultural and religious experiences.

While visiting Tetovo, we also visited Arabati Tekke. In addition to viewing the exterior, we also entered the inner courtyard. At that time, a dervish approached us, asked us where we were from and offered us coffee or tea. As we had just drunk a coffee, we politely declined, then he invited us to sit down to tell us the history of the tekke. So we were talking for about an hour in a very pleasant atmosphere. A really wonderful hour.

Sadly this place is quite dilapidated in various areas but is still well worth a visit. We arrived early one evening and just entered the complex through what looked like the main gates and wandered around unhindered at our own pace. The complex comprises a collection of historic buildings set inside a walled courtyard and the atmosphere is truly tranquil. The architecture is quite stunning in places and with some dedicated restoration work this whole place could be spectacular.

The Tekke is open 24/7 for everyone, can be found on the former Silk Road. The compound is bounded by stone walls, inside you can find interesting buildings and ancient history. The resident Baba is very friendly and happy to introduce the history of the compound.
Entrance is free.

Tekke's are open for everyone and for 24 hours a day. However this one has a special situation; although this is a Bektaşi Tekke Sunni Albanians took control in most of the campus and Bektaşi representative has only 80 sqm of the area. Please do not take the black bearded guy in the main garden into account as he knows nothing about the religion and history. You can easily recognise the Bektaşi representative from his white beard and look that makes you feel relieved.

A walled compound full of interesting buildings and history. The resident Baba so welcoming and eager to explain the history of the site and the refreshing attitude of acceptance this branch of islam adopts. He has limited English but does speak many other languages so seek him out in his quarters

I wasn't inside the buildings as there was seriously nobody who would let us in our forced us out. However, it's a very nice place to see. Bit pity is that Bekhtashi order is struggling for it with other muslim groups as they kept it in a very nice condition

The Dervish is very welcoming and will answer all your questions. The only problem is that you need somebody to translate if you do not speak Albanian or Macedonian. Sometimes there is somebody else present who speaks English or even Danish.

This place used to be a very powerful and well maintained educational and spiritual complex. Now, it's not so well maintained but there are plans to refurbish and rebuild it. We asked the security guy if he can explain to us about the complex and he gave a very interesting half an hour exposition. However, he only speaks Macedonian, Serbian, Albanese and Turkish. There is only one Sufi Dervish still living there and we had an interesting discussion with him as well, again only the languages above are available.
