Breathtaking view

Steep and long road to the top of the mountain, but feel worth of it because of the great view. Please Keep quiet and respect attitude at the place.

The monestry and church on the hill. Take a trip up here and you get a nice view over Pothia Chora and Kos. You can go inside the monestry and visit the remainings of Savvas if you are welldressed. The church is not always open. We love the lamps outside they are very special.

During our visit in Pouthia / Kalymnos we had a cloudy day. The perfect chance to rent a scooter and to discover the island. On this tour we've been at the Monastery - this is a really impressive place! Very clean, silent and with a beautiful view... We recommend the visit!

A trip to Kalymnos must always include a visit to St Savvas. I'm not one for visiting relics normally, but here I actually feel I am visiting the man himself, as do my children ( one of whom hates churches normally. The view is incredible, the place deeply calming and overall this is just somewhere very special.

This is a very extensive and new monastery complex which has great views of Pothia harbour. It can be seen towering above the town from far below in the town .

The view was great, the grounds were well kept and the frescos were out of this world. You can walk from Pothia, but is quite a climb. We chose to drive.

This is a must see. The best way to go is to take a bus tour with a guide around the island which will stop here. The history, and the beautiful views here are to be savored.

The monastery sits above Pothia and is very beautiful. The wall painting of the monastery are very impressive and l would highly recommend a visit here. This site has no entrance fee and you will need a car to visit here.
