Extremely busy restaurant with a great atmosphere. The food was very good and we couldn't fault the service. Recommend the scallop pakoras to start.

The day we arrived on Barra it was very very windy and the little boat to the island wouldn't venture into the bay that day. The next afternoon was much better and the crossing was quick and uneventful. The castle was a surprise. Good condition and looks like you could move in. Gift shop was good and there are quite a few rooms to look in. Boat returns to the mainland just when you have seen the lot. Well timed.

Impressive from the outside and nice little boat ride to get there, but the inside is disappointing. Great Hall not visitable due to structural issues. Little in the way of information apart from the leaflet for £1.

We had a great wee trip out and enjoyed every minute of it. We would say a must if you have the time and it is great for kids!
