The newly remodeled museum is wonderful! While it's small, it's still very informative. English brochures (as well as several other languages) are available, and there are several hands-on games that are really fun. The snake exhibit is beautiful. The animals look exceptionally healthy! We were very happy with our visit here, and feel that 200 yen (roughly $2.00) was a... More

Well we were there so why not. The Good: I guess white snakes give you luck The Bad: my not understanding different cultures... More

I was expecting lots of snakes in the museum. But I think I only saw 2-3 white snakes. The place is not so big so a 10-15 minute visit would be enough. Entrance fee is 100 yen if I remember correctly. You can take a photo of the snake but please avoid using flash.

These white snakes are renowned to bring good fortune and you can spend as little or as much time as you like to see them - we spent around 20 minutes admiring them and they didn't fail to impress during that time as they were surprisingly active. There were also egg cases on display as well as a baby white... More

There is only one small exibit with a couple snakes. Though this is said to be good luck and only cost a small donation, it only takes about 10 seconds to get through.

It is said that if a white snake is found in your home it will bring good fortune. These gentle ivory white snakes with ruby colored eyes can only be found in Iwakuni. This was my second time to Iwakuni and I wanted to see something different. The viewing facility is near Kikko Park. The only sign is written in... More
