Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

When I was planning my first tour of Thailand, I had no idea about this mighty Dam until my Thai friend told me about it, cause normally you don't find this attraction on You Tube or any other tourist map. But I decided to go there with me friend. It's a nice cool place to explore and enjoy the top of the dam and enjoy the spectacular scenery. There is a small park by the top and from there you can walk a few hundred meters along the top of the dam.You can take a tour bus trip along the top of the dam to fully appreciate the fine views and the scale of the construction.

I recommend that one must also go to the places which are not on the tourist map, there are lots more to explore, no security issues there. there are many untouched areas in Thailand waiting for you.

An interesting drive up to the big dam, one of, if not the largest, dam in Thailand. It was the dry season when I was there, so the lake behind the dam almost empty of water. Would be more exciting to see during the rainy season, I think.

The dam itself is impressive and very expansive. You can get a bus ride tour for 30 baht each or an individual self driving golf buggy for 350 baht. to view the dam wall. Has a good coffee shop and other areas to buy some food and refreshments.

Khun Dan Prakarnchon Dam is open for visitors to see view over the dam. Can see the view over tha dam. Can see the city of Nakhon Nayok and Khao Yai National Park at tha dam. You can rent a boat to see a waterfall that is deep into the reservoir of the dam. I like this place.

If you plan on a visit to a dam but doesn't want to stay over night, this is the place for you.

It is about 90 minutes drive from Bangkok. Best to visit during the weekday to stay away from the weekend vacationers and tour groups. With the trade off that the shops will be close during the weekday. So, prepare some water to bring with you as it is quite hot.

Toilet is available for a small maintainace fee. If you want some privacy, golf cart is available for rent to ride along the dam ridge. Or you can pay 30 baht for the sightseeing bus along with other folks. You can get a boat trip in the dam for about 300 baht per person but be willing to spend about an hour.

I wouldn't go as far as calling it The best attraction in the area but it is a nice quick stop before visiting the waterfalls.

We visited during low water season. The large wall of the dam is impressive. You can rent a golf cart to drive along it. Walking in was not allowed. Nice if you are already in the area. But would not recommend to specifically drive there.

There is a small park by the top and from there you can walk a few hundred meters along the top of the dam.

You can also take a boat trip across the lake and up the river behind the dam into Khao Yai.

Stop by to admire the scale of the civil engineering if this is your thing. The man made lake is huge. Boat trips are offered.
