Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It is for sure a nice complement to the archaeological area just in front (also known as 'Infiernito'), and the elements incorporated to the exhibition help to create a wider understanding of the muisca culture.

We visited Sol Muisca during a short stay in Villa de Leyva and loved it. The guide was super friendly, let us try different musical instruments and was happy to answer all our questions. It's a small exhibition, what makes the whole tour feel very personal. Highly recommended! If you don't mind a little exercise, it's especially nice to go there by bike from Villa de Leyva.

The tour guide speaks English and the stories are very interesting. You can really get to know better the culture of musicas and their history. As well as see some of the things from their daily lives.
I really recommend!

We were visiting the Muisca Observatory and stumbled upon Sol Muisca. Natalia was a very informative english speaking guide who explained through several themes the life of the Muisca. A very worthwhile, and in my view essential addition, to the observatory across the street. Sol Muisca is cleary indicated from the main road and is a must if you want to experience and learn about this ancient civilization.

Quite amazing and well structured tour. It has shared some good information about Muisca culture that no other site I have visited (and I did quite a bit). I went to the place because of "infernito" (that has no explanation at all; without such, just a bunch of rocks) and had this pleasant surprise.

Sol Muisca is owned by a passionate and lovely woman who will explain you everything about the Muisca tribes and Colombian ancient culture and answer all your questions. Where many times guided tours sound like a tape recorder being repeated, this woman dedicates her free time to learn more about the Muiscas and loves to brainstorm together with you about questions you might have. She literally takes all the time and there is no rush at all. In our experience, she managed to drag us completely into her enthusiasm which was amazing! Absolutely recommended!!

We rented bikes to visit the surrounding area of Villa de Leyva and on our journey we passed Sol Muisca. We dropped in for a quick look. 10000COP per person. It was a small display but the explanation by the guide was brilliant. We are English speaking and she had good English and was very clear to understand

Our guide was excellent and spoke very good English. She was very knowledgeable and passionate about the Muisca people and many aspects of their culture. We saw the solar calendar and a small hut with artifacts and had these all explained - how things worked, why they were important etc. It was very interesting. Note that entrance into Sol Muisca (COP 9,000 per adult) does NOT include entrance to the Observatoire des Indiens Muiscas across the road.

Sol Muisca is a private run Maloca. Owners have managed to put together a simple, thoughtful and enthralling 50-70 minute talk on Muisca history, culture, traditions, language and much more. Marcela, the guide tour, has spent some quality time researching on Muisca culture, she claims not to be an expert but has certainly done her homework well. She does not rush through the talk and is passionate about the subject.

Visitors who are into what make Muisca culture tick will surely make the most out of their visit.

SOL MUISCA is an example of how personal interests can make the most of the pre-hispanic traditions of our country: Colombia. They manage to offer a MUISCA perspective of colonization and its ill-fated consequences.

I have yet to do the astronomy tour in the evening. I will certainly do it next time I visit!

Disable people can access it when they reach the destination by car.

We absolutely adored the place. Beginning with the maloka itself! It’s so beautiful! My daughter loved the stories about the Muiscas and the lady who explained everything to her with such interest and care. She even had a rocket workshop! During the late hours we had a conference about the universe, quite interesting!
We camped there in a lovely tent, cozy and warm and woke up with a fantastic breakfast!

I think it’s been one of the most amazing and productive trips of all.

Thank you guys for making such a hard effort! Well done!
