About
Inspired by the Atlantic coastline, I create unique stoneware ceramic sculptures and vessels from my Hebridean home on the Isle of North Uist. Natural beach-weathered sea fragments, abandoned at the high-tide line, provide some of the natural textures captured on the surface of the clay. Some pieces of work are enriched with locally gathered beach sands and rock sediments, which once fired in the kiln, transforms into rich warm chestnut tones, creating a truly unique Hebridean gift. The Gallery also exhibits original art works from several North Uist artists.

We stumbled unexpectedly on Shoreline whist walking the Hebridean Way and took refuge from the weather. High quality work inspired by the sea and nature of North Uist including some interesting pieces that mixed pottery with woven plant material. Very lovely. We bought one. Something for all budgets. Also a good selection of cards and work from other local artists. Very much worth a visit.

What a lovely little gallery situated in a very picturesque location. It was amazing to learn about how each piece is made, Louise was vet knowledgeable and happy to spend some time chatting to us. Picked up some beautiful pieces. Would recommend a visit to anyone who is on the island.

In a lovely scenic location on Locheport Road this small but airy, light filled gallery displayed a varied selection of artwork by local artists. Louise, the owner, was very welcoming and informative; we especially appreciated her own creative pottery. There was no pressure to buy but we did!

Situated at the start of Locheport Road just off the main road. Shoreline Stoneware pottery is owned and run by Louise Cook. Every piece of Shoreline Stoneware Pottery is hand-crafted and captures texture from natural materials and found objects, collected along the Atlantic shores of Uist & Barra. Shoreline Stoneware Pottery also displays a selection of work by talented artists, all of whom either live locally or have strong ties to the islands. With a wide selection of original works across different media, including acrylic, watercolour, pastels, photography and giclee prints. There is also a selection of artist designed sterling silver jewellery and North Uist red deer antler crafts. Purchase whatever takes your fancy as a reminder of the Outer Hebrides.

This is one of a few ‘shopping’ spots on North Uist. The pottery is ok; will appeal to some and not others. Otherwise a few other bits and pieces to buy.

Absolutely should be on anyone's list of places to visit. It's not often you will visit such a place and speak to the artist/creator who can tell you all about the pieces. A lovely person, very talented. My wife could have emptied our savings account then gone back for more. Very reasonably priced items and a lovely atmosphere. A business that deserves to be supported.

I saw the sign at the end of the road and spent a pleasant 20 mins chatting to the owner of this interesting little gallery. The ceramics were very quirky and I’ll definitely be going back.

We had read the wonderful reviews and were not disappointed with our visit. Louise was extremely welcoming and talked us through the process of the beautiful pottery we bought. (there was even a biscuit for our dog!).

We came across Shoreline Stoneware whilst exploring North Uist last summer and were so suprised to see such original pieces. Louise was very welcoming and her studio was light and airy and filled with her beautiful pottery. You can tell she loves her craft as it shines through in every piece. It was very difficult choosing which items to buy as they were all gorgeous. We will be returning this year for more!
