WORTH A VISIT

Small but with a varied collection of items of local interest. The railway timetable from the 1860s was a real surprise. It is a short walk out of town but worth the effort

This is on the edge of town with free entry and worth a visit. it is only open at certain times mainly afternoon. You wonder where the entrance is but it is at the back of the building. It has disabled access. Worth a visit

We called in not expecting to find such a comprehensive expose of the history of Beccles. Very well set out with good explanations of how the town developed, and two volunteer guides who answered all our questions. Very well worth and hour.

Beccles has a population in excess of 10,000 and is near to both Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth, two towns which are economically improving. With us coming to Beccles for a river walk, this popular town has good rail and road links and much more to offer!

We went one day before closing, saw half of the exhibit, went the next to finish on both occasions the stewards were friendly and loved sharing their local knowledge.

Volunteers very enthusiastic and knowledgeable and the Curator (Alan) very accommodating. They also had a display of local GCSE and A level artwork on display at Charter Weekend to enable local people to see the... More

A fabulous little local museum which is laid out in a very easy and interesting way. Can be a quick visit combined with a walk along the river and an ice cream or could make up half a day if you are in town and want to get a bite to eat for lunch.
