Annie B’s class was a day spent marketing, cooking, eating, drinking, and conversing about food and drink. Even as experienced and adventurous cooks we learned new skills and loved every minute.

Fabulous day with Annie shopping, meeting local butcher and being educated about tuna and other delicacies. Then instruction on making lots of Spanish dishes but especially paella, tuna salad, citrus and almond cake and garlic prawns.
Annie is a friendly generous hostess who imparts her love of Spain and sherry with ease and humour. We will plan another trip

Very fun cooking and challenging hikes. Annie is a very generous hostess and great cook. I learned a lot about the local food and sherry! And Carlos a very well-informed hiking guide. We learned a lot about the area's plant life.
Would thoroughly recommend especially for singles, couples and friends.

I was part of a group cooking some days and hiking on others. The cooking was fun and informative - and not too difficult. Hope to try out at home.
Hiking was beautiful - some trails more difficult than others. Certainly need to be quite fit for the long uphills - but the views are worth it!
Both Annie (cooking) and Carlos (hiking) are great at their jobs. The Hiking is a lovely addition to the cooking.

After two years in lockdown, Vejer appeared before us, blazing gloriously white. Myself and a friend had booked a six day cooking and sherry experience, our itinerary curated to meet our needs by our host, teacher and guide, Annie B who welcomed us into her home, where we would cook and learn the delights of Spanish cuisine, glorious local produce and all things Sherry.
Cooking in Annie’s own home was a relaxed affair, with a group of people of varied experience and knowledge, her easy (and often hilarious) manner effortlessly manages the day so you don’t have to stress about your ability. We shopped in the local markets for ingredients for the dishes we would make, the sights and sounds quite amazing, certainly beats supermarket shopping.
The group came together really well to making it easy to delight in her passion for Spanish cooking and local produce. The cooking completed, we retired to the roof terrace to enjoy our meal accompanied by the wine and sherry we’d learned about that day. I can honestly say that these cooking lessons were the most enjoyable experiences I’ve ever had, and I came away each day delighting in what we had made and ate and with recipes to take home to recreate.
Annie guided us through the streets of Vejer and the surrounding areas to all the best Tapas bars and restaurants, we were frequently met with cries of joy from owners and staff from bars and restaurants who met us “Hola Annie B!” this lady is very well regarded. We ate our way through tapa after tapa, all accompanied by wines and sherry’s, the best the area had to offer, and again, stories to delight , keep conversation flowing and generally leave you wanting more! We experienced a local fiesta, where women, resplendent in traditional dress danced, clapped and encouraged us to do the same and fortified with Sherry, we did!!
Our trip also took in a visit to two sherry Bodegas, where we were guided through the workings and processes of making sherry, and of course, we tasted and enthused, Annie’s knowledge of all things sherry, her love, enthusiasm and generoristy shines through to make an experience I’ll never forget.
Would I recommend booking a trip with Annie B? Absolutely, the quality of experience and value for money was second to none, and I genuinely cannot wait to do it again. Many thanks Annie x

Annie organized a sherry tour for my wife and I. The driver was waiting for us at our cruise ship docked in Sevilla and drove us to the first tour, Bodega Tradicion, in Jerez where we toured and tasted some marvelous sherries, from wines that would complement many meals to very old and rare wines to savor by themselves. The tour guide was excellent and the explanation of the sherry process outlined in chalk on the barrels was outstanding. Then we were off to La Gitana, in Sanlucar where our enthusiastic guide took us through their process from the "base" Palomino white wine to the sweet Pedro Ximenez old and rare wines. He served jamon, and cheese and bread as appropriate to each wine type. Then there was lunch........wonderful and more than we could eat which meant we slept on the ride back to the ship.
An absolutely perfect day.

Excellent short cooking course, visited the local market to buy the ingredients for that days cooking.
Lovely tour around the local bars / tapa joints.
I know this is a VERY late review, but the course was excellent. Annie was excellent, Pep was excellent.
Tortilla de Pepe is remains a regular lunch item!
(Sorry for the late review - I visited in October 2014!)

I first met Annie five years ago outside a special bodega at Jerez. I was instantly attracted to her warm personality and her business model too. Since then we have been planning a cookery course at Vejer and last week our wish came true. We had an amazing time. Collected at our Hotel by taxi, whisked to the Fish Market at Barbate and back to Annies unique home at Vejer, with a breakfast stop en route.
It was a hands-on course with notes provided. In the afternoon we tasted some local sherry and ate delicious starters that we had prepared. Later we dined on the rooftop in pleasant November sunshine. I know that I will put the recipes and recipes shared to good use.
We hope to return to complete the Moroccan cookery course next year.
Our sincere thanks Annie for a wonderful experience.

Our group of 12 spent 8 glorious days in Vejer with Annie B to celebrate a milestone birthday. Annie developed an itinerary that highlighted the best of the region, from visiting sherry bodegas and wineries, learning about tuna, hiking, and visiting salt flats. Cooking in Annie's kitchen was over the top fun, enhanced by live Flamenco music and dancing, and Pepi! The food and wine paring were amazing. Annie's passion is clear in everything she does, and we couldn't have hoped for a more gracious host or more fun time. Nothing is overlooked and we can't wait for our next adventure with Annie!

Hi
I am thinking of travelling alone to do your summer cooking class ( in July). Will I be the odd one out as a single traveller as my husband will be away? I am in my late sixties ( but with a young outlook) and am learning Spanish.

Hola! Thank you for your message. I would be delighted if you would join in the course starting July 14. You will certainly not be the odd one out as I seem to always have single travellers on courses and so far for 14 July course, I have 2 ladies travelling solo. They don't even know each other and are actually flying on same flight from Stansted to Jerez on 14th. Would be crazy if you could come on that flight too!!!! I also have a couple from Edinburgh on the course. I had a gentleman last year with his wife celebrating his 81st birthday so age is no barrier as long as you are able to walk along cobbled streets and uphill without trouble. Please do email me via my website and we can hopefully make a plan. I look forward to hearing from you. Best, Annie
