First time on the ferry in a couple of years. We had brekky in the restaurant. Then toured the ships store. Lots of clothing and souvenirs for the tourists as well as a good variety of things for the little ones.

While waiting for our ferry to Pender Island, we enjoyed a coffee and a couple of cheese dogs. There is plenty of Canadian gifts available for purchase, so we shopped and bought a few pieces of uniquely Canadian jewellery for our American friends.

I've traveled from coast to coast in Canada and the people at BC Ferries know how to run things, unlike Marine Atlantic. The ferries run like clockwork, boarding and disembarking are always quick and the service on the boats is always very good.

Thankfully we had a booking confirmation else would have risked a long wait and possibly missing a crossing. Ferry staff were cool and calm in directing vehicles and both on and off went smoothly. Used the $12 pp lounge on board and this was comfortable

What is a very short trip (25 min) direct turned into a 4 hour time sucking voyage all over the place (if I wanted to go sightseeing, I would've booked a cruise.) Worse was that the dock attendants didn't know their itinerary and made life...More

The whole trip was very quick and stress-free! We paid for tickets upon arrival and didn't have to wait in any sort of queue due to the efficient computerised system in place. We boarded the ferry promptly and got underway to Victoria in no time!...More

Had return crossings from Vancouver to Vancouver island on BC Ferries and well organised both ways. Ships are spotless clean , plenty of seating, good food and pleasant staff. Scenery wonderful on both crossings. Thoroughly enjoyed our journeys on these ferries.

Personally I would always make a reservation. There are other benefits: you are given a preferred position for boarding, meaning you are one of the first on and first off the boat. Also, I just sailed from Tsawwassen to... More
