The Victoria ship is an historic ship pesaenger transpotation connecting lake zone cities including Mwanza;Musoma and Bukoba.

MV Victoria is not working and nobody knows anything. For the moment there's no ferry service on the lake. I went there in February 2017 - but the watchman was not able to tell anything.

Sadly this ferry is no longer in operation. Engine failure made the service between Mwanza and Bukoba come t a halt. New ferry is promised by the president but still not in service up to now (November 2016)

There is nothing better than watching the sunset of Victoria. I would recommend anyone to visit. However, the mosquitos/ lake flies in the evening are not friendly. So much to do!

Taking the ferry from Mwanza to Bukoba is a great experience. Go 2nd class if traveling alone, for a 6-bunk shared room. 1st class if couple or with 1-2 kids. All this is mute though for now since the ferry hasn't been running since Dec...More

Ok it is in Africa, and it's main purpose is to cart people and goods low cost from mwanza to Bukoba or Kemondo Bay, so we should expect too much but don't get fooled by 1st class because it is only a reflection of 3rd...More
