a boat trip to the lake in a collapsed cave, some sorcery means the light falling into this lake has an extraordinary beauty.

A place of natural beauty, the boatmen really know the history of this beautiful lake (they also keep you entertained whilst safely transporting you around the lake). Amazing, the saltiness of the water, the colour, whole place breathtaking.

From the hot sunshine we descended steeply to the edge of this underground lake and into a rowboat manned by a guide who provided information about the lake, its origins, and depths. The sun comes through the fallen roof during the middle of the day...More

Visited Melissani cave and it surely is a must when visiting Kefalonia. Came here as part of the Island tour which was our best day on Kefalonia. The short boat trip was beautiful, serene and mesmerising. Our gondola was very witty and on hand to...More

Visited as part of our premium tour of kefalonia. Quite special walking down to the cave and short ride in the boat around the cave. May have been disappointed if this was our only stop.

Lovely cave, although the boat trip around it is relatively short. The boatmen are happy to take photographs, and are knowledgeable about the cave's history. Queues can be lengthy, although we timed it about right, going in the mid afternoon. Recommended.

We went here as part of a day trip to other places in Kefalonia. It isn't very big but it worth going to see as the cave itself is gorgeous with crystal clear waters. The boatman also sings and is more then happy to take...More

This is a really interesting natural wonder. When you get to the caves there is a small cafe and gift shop which is where you buy entrance to the cave. It was £7 each for an adult ticket. Then you walk downstairs under the entrance...More

There's a slope down to the boats and you'll need to hold them tight getting on and off the boat, but yes I'd say the experience is toddler friendly.
