The palace has been converted into a government building and there are government offices inside. The architecture is very nice, there is a museum, a cenotaph and an artificial lake within the complex.

We stopped off at Alwar with the aim of visiting The City Palace. It is not easy to find in the midst of the town, no signage, and close to the town's courts with lots of people milling around. Eventually we found it with some perseverance and the palace is really quite spectacular though needs some restoration and cleaning. There is no charge to go in as with other sights which it would probably benefit from.

Together with the museum, worth a visit, if you can find it! Needs a little work, but a fascinating place
