Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Went on Monday for coffee with a friend, very slow service, expensive and noisy.
We couldn’t hear ourselfs speak for the dancing of the ballet school on the floor above thudding on the ceiling.
Wouldn’t recommend this place for a quite meeting and the car parking is ridiculous.
I feel sorry for the residents around using off street parking

This is a very friendly little eatery catering for everyone young or old. They also cater for people watching the calorie count but also have a good selection for those not. Sandwiches are really good as are the hot meals. A cosy unhurried place to eat with a welcoming wood burning stove.

I have driven past this many a time and only went in after a friend told me about it. So yes definitely for large signage as suggested earlier. The food was lovely and whilst we took advantage of the lovely weather and sat outside we soon found ourselves surrounded by wasps so tea and cake were had inside which was fantastic too as the old mill hand been converted beautifully with an amazing ambience.

Having just visited Oakwell Hall we called in to browse the antiques(?) here. The place was very quiet, but this gave the owner a chance to explain his changes of use. The antique collection(?) was just gathering dust and NOT showing a profit. Hence his decision and investment to provide a dance studio and gym. The cafe still provides good food in a homely atmosphere, which also benefits from the studio rather than dusty furniture. A tidy outside lawned area is ideal for dining in better weather. I would suggest some larger signs outside as it is easy to miss this gem of a cafe.
Luxury scones ? At five pounds for two, it did seem a bit steep, unless he made a mistake. None the less we did enjoy them when we got home.

When i was here last year we were surrounded by antiques for sale which were very interesting. I do hope when i return they are still there. I very much enjoyed my home made soup and good quality bread. Coffee excellent.

A big plus is, at least weather permitting, that you can sit outside and bring your dog :). Food is good and there's an antiques/junk shop on site which is fabulous to browse and you might just find what you didn't know you were looking for - well worth a visit.
