Lake Tondano in North Sulawesi is an eutrophic volcanic lake where you can visit and viewing, photographing the surrounding areal largely. I have been visiting the lake with my political parliament collages on official comparative study duty in 2004. But the holiday visit in 2016 also made.
The territorial of the lake is quite beautiful but the eutrophication seriously occur and pollution of the lake water seems shallowed the lake bed caused the eutrophication involve. Varieties of fish species are similar to other lakes in Indonesia both authocthonous and alocthonous species.
The road from Menado to this place is spectacular up hills landscapes with stunning view all the way up. There are plenty of restaurants on the roadside to the lake. The volcanic Territorials are not clearly showing a volcanic morphological type because the caldera is a caldera basin. If we have more time we will visit this place more and more for holiday business trip to witness the beautification of this volcanic lake.

The Tondano area itself is beautiful, it's more of a mountainy area, so the weather is quite cool. There is a road that divides the rice padi field and at the background are hills and mountain, it reminded me of my trip to Padang, for I saw an almost the same view there with Bukit Barisan as the background.

We, a family of 4 (wife, son 12 & daughter 9) passed by Lake Tondano around noon and had an incredible lunch feast in the Restoran Danau Tondano. We ordered the original fish (called ikan nike) cake medium size (consist of 8 cakes), medium serving of fried corn cakes, 1 fish for each person, fried chicken in butter and the ikan nike woku (cooked traditional manadonese style). All of the items were tasty and delicious. Our table was one of the row beside the lake with an undisturbed view of the whole magnificent lake. The best part is the price, the whole set only costs us Rp 250,000 (usd 27).

The lake is very large..nothing special about the lake but you can find many tourist spot around it. traditional food are selling all the way. try milu bakar in Tondano Boulevard and dont forget the satay.

The lake is big surrounded by nice mountain view and nice weather. Had fresh water fish and lobster with local sauce, it's uncomparable meal ever. We can spend long time here without boring. Fantastic place to visit.

This lake features on many of the group tours organised from Manado. Often, you are brought here for lunch on a semi-floating restaurant! It is one of the largest lakes in North Sulawesi. Some views are very nice, but many are through uncontrolled vegetation and, to be honest, the waters are not the cleanest, due to drainage from cultivated land.

Tondano lake is the biggest lake in Minahasa, north Sulawesi. It's surrounded by hills and also seafood restaurant. It has beautiful view. You could enjoy all kind of seafood and so the view.

This is the largest lake in North Sulawesi and it was absolutely beautiful. We went during dusk and watched the moon rise over the lake. There were local fisherman still out on the lake. It was so peaceful.

Tondano lake is located on 600m above sea level and its a beautiful place to cycling around. The people are so friendly and the road mostly flat.

This is a BIG lake, lots of fish farms on it and rice fields around it the house around the lake also provide nice examples of Minahasa architecture worth driving around the lake, great views and chilled place. just be careful as roads are narrow and children, bikes, Bullock carts come our at all places and all angles

When you came to lake tondano make sure to explore the nearby village around it. There is many good palace to check, such as eris, or toulour. They have their own good sight seing and fresh environments..
Food lovers? Dont forget to check the Pisang Goreng (Fried Banana) + Rica Roa (Roa Chilly), Bubur Manado (Manado Porridge) or the extreme food..
By the way, you should try to play this new and profitable game while spending your time there.
