Nearly every town in Italy has a Piazza Garibaldi and Sondrio is no exception. A large square close to public parking, the old part of Sondrio, the Geological Museum and good bars to sit and watch people walk by.

This is a huge piazza dominated by the theater, the Hotel Della Posta and a number of banking establishments. Off season (July/August) when there are few activities in the piazza, it appears formal and lifeless; however; during much of the year there are events scheduled...More

Small Italian town with small square with Garibaldi statue. Very nice buildings around the square and a mountain view. A southern laid back atmosphere. Two bars and an ice cream shop and boutiques around the corner.

Spent 4 days in Sondrio staying at Piazzi House, which was in a perfect location. Absolutely loved wandering through the old town exploring all the winding paths(roads) and specialty shops. Tried all the cafes in Garibaldi Piaza, all great.

Nice walk in a quiet place with little shops and beautiful Apericena in the main square (alcoholic or not). There is a little museums but not easy to understand when it is open.

A lot of options for a coffee or a aperitivi, for breakfast, lunch or a coffee and talk with friends. On the winter the ice skating is good too. Sometimes you can find some open fairs.

Just your usual piazza in a small Lombardy city. Ok, plenty of restaurants around but this is what you would normally expect, isn't it?. There is now a small skating rink in winter, lacks the wow factor, that's for sure.

We usually meet friends in Piazza Garibaldi, it is the best place to begin exploring Sondrio. The square is surrounded by small coffee bars, the main bank, a large hotel and the Sondrio Theatre. During the summer there are outdoor concerts, wine tasting and a...More
