Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

While the place is quite nice and relaxed with a nice location we were rather surprised by the food menue prices. We had a bottle of wine, some beers and a soft drink, which were reasonably priced, but were taken aback by a £23 charge for a cheese sharing plate. This had only three small cheeses, a few thin cut hams and salami and about 8-12 crackers with a title butter and a a small few grapes and thin cut apples and seemed to us a very expensive plate for not very much. Please don't spoil a potentially nice spot in the town by having silly prices for not an awful lot...

If you’re looking for something a bit different this is the place for you. We did the fine wine flight tasting, the gin tasting and had various platters of food. All of which was delicious, well presented and served with a smile. Our friends were so impressed by the experience. Well recommended!

What a great place and experience. Visiting friends in the town and suggested we go here because they have a great selection of wines and snacks to go with. Our host was extremely helpful and friendly and we had a great time from start to finish. Great memories. Thank you.

Went to celebrate my daughter-in-laws birthday (belatedly) and neither she or her friend had visited before. What a lovely afternoon we had! All choosing different ‘flights’ - 1 x Red, 1 x White and 1 x Sparkling wine plus cheese board for one and a sharing charcuterie. Everything was beautifully delivered, tasted amazing and the cocktails that followed were amazing. Thank you, she will remember this I’m sure and we’ve all agreed we now need to celebrate everyone’s birthdays here - even all the pets!! 🤣🤣

We visited the Nomad cellar after seeing their posters along the towpath. The venue is easily accessible from the canal, as well as by road.

We were immediately made to feel very welcome, as was our four-legged friend (complimentary gravy bones available, woof!)

The place is a wonderful find! Something different from the usual canalside watering holes. Amongst the offerings are 'Wine flights', which give you the chance to try (and attempt to identify) three different offerings.

For the malt and hops lover, there is a good selection of speciality craft beers.

The menu also offers some delightful-sounding light bites.

The owner is a lovely lady, who helped to make our visit most enjoyable, thank you :)

We used to live in wine country in California, so finding this gem 💎 was a throwback in time. superb cosy rustic wine country feel, yummy local cheeses, and lots of fun with wine flight tasting - all with great service. A great date night. Or any night or lazy afternoon for that matter ! Highly recommend.

Popped in today on the opening day as we had booked a barrel to sit at. We both opted for the white wine taster, which was three lovely white wines. We also had a charcuterie platter which had a selection of really tasty sliced meats 🍖 , cheeses 🧀 and olives 🫒 with crackers and really good chutney. The staff are so welcoming and friendly, with an excellent knowledge of the wines. We loved the wine that much we bought a few bottles to bring home from the shop. A lovely afternoon treat after a walk by the canal. Got a lovely bottle of Port to bring home too. Highly recommended, we will be going back soon for sure.
