This 12 acre garden is a lovely, picturesque and relaxing place packed with plants of interest throughout the year. A winter garden, laburnum tunnel, alpine scree with pool, rose walk, edible woodland, seasonal borders and rhododendron filled woodland with waterfall are just some of the highlights you will find here. The garden is both intimate and informal with a network of meandering paths that invite you to explore. Relax in the tearoom with adjoining terrace lawn that affords some wonderful views into the surrounding Staffordshire, Shropshire and Cheshire countryside.
Originally designed by Colonel Clive for the love of his wife, The Dorothy Clive Garden was set up as a charitable garden trust with the objectives of maintaining, enhancing and developing a garden inspired by the memory of the late Dorothy Clive. Today the garden is expressly intended to be used for the enjoyment and benefit of the public and to support ongoing horticultural education.
The garden hosts a range of horticulturally inspired events throughout the open season, including the twice yearly Plant Hunters' Fair and the Annual Chilli Festival. There are also special events for children including garden trails, giant games and summer picnics.
