Stayed here for two nights on our way to Switzerland. We visited Monte Calvario, which I highly recommend to Catholic visitors. We also wandered around some of the small villages, took a dip in the river and relaxed in Piazza Mercato. Nice town for a...More

People tend to just see Domodossola from the train, and think it a boring place. But venture out into the village and find the Old Town - it is a fantastic experience of well-kept medieval houses, little alleys, small cafes and gelaterias. Finish the explorations...More

This market was full of stalls, selling a huge array of things from cheese to clothes. The food stalls were amazing, cheese, hams, sausages, vegetables, all fresh / home produced. Great Atmosphere. Well worth taking the time to browse.

The city of Domodossola was a great surprise for us! We went there to do the train ride to Locarno but In the end the best part was the city, the old city (Piazza Del Mercato), and the visit to Sacro Monte Calvario.

We got the train from Stresa to Domodossola and spent the day exploring the city. There are some nice shops and restaurants. We visited the Sacred Mount Calvary of Domodossola which has wonderful views of the city.

There is not an awful lot to see and do here but there are some pleasant squares and narrow lanes in the town centre. Stunning scenery around. Numerous places to eat and drink for reasonable money. If you have time, some... More
