    Great Zoo!
Brilliant! It's the first non-council owned Zoo we've visited, and it was enjoyable. I'd highly recommend anyone visiting Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast, or the Gold Coast to add this to your itinerary.

    Animals Galore
I cannot say enough about this place! The Irwins have done a fantastic job, not only with the zoo itself, but with all the conservation work that goes on behind the scenes. The animals were active and friendly and they had a wide range of different animals to view. We purchased a two-day pass and I'm glad we did because there was so much to see. They conduct conservation talks about different animals and have a live croc and bird show in the main arena just after lunch. The grounds were immaculately kept and there were small cafes and drinks stalls all the way around the park. A fabulous experience that we highly recommend!

    One of the Zoos
definitely one of the best zoos in the world. The animals have ample spaces for roaming around freely. If you love the Australian kangaroos and koalas, they are ample viewing sightings in the zoo. Though, the varieties of the animals aren't the best spread as compared to some zoos, there are quite comprehensive facilities such as children plays, shows, eating areas.

Australia Zoo - a lovely park
We visited Australia Zoo on a very hot day in late summer (March) in Beerwah, Australia. It is located about an hour and a half north of Brisbane. We arrived about 9:30am and walked through this lovely zoo with all the iconic Aussie animals. We could actually walk through an area with kangaroos in an large enclosure with no fences between you and the Roos. We also got to pet a lovely koala in a shaded area in the park. He was very soft. We saw Tasmanian devils and many native birds as well. The zoo has several areas representing animals from around the world. We also watched the crocodile show in the Crocoseum. Very cool - the place Steve Irwin used to do his show. We had hoped to see Bindi, Robert and Terry but they must not have been there that day sadly. Australia Zoo is well worth a visit. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

    Crikey, what a zoo!
We had a great day at Australia zoo and throughly enjoyed the various talks and shows on offer. We were grateful it wasn’t the middle of summer as the zoo is very large and the enclosures are spread out which results in a lot of walking. There are lots of shaded areas for people to sit and the grounds are planted in a variety of different trees and plants which makes it very appealing to look at. The enclosures are well kept and the animals appear healthy and cared for. We did the echidna encounter and found the keeper to be knowledgeable and friendly. This zoo is great for adults and children and has plenty to offer. Steve Irwin’s passion for wildlife protection is evident throughout and the keepers were good at encouraging people to be more mindful about conversation and animal habitats. Definitely recommend a day trip to experience it for yourself.

    Platinum tour was great
We spent the entire day doing the Platinum Tour which filled the day from 9-5. If you do this tour you’ll need an extra day to wonder around on your own because the property is quite large and in summer it is quite hot. People were mostly there right at opening to avoid as much heat as possible and see as much as possible. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our guide was Dani and she was very good and patient as I like to take lots of photos. I would suggest the tour but would also say if time allows to spend 2 days at the zoo. We only planned on one day as we were seeing a lot of Queensland in the 2 weeks we were in Brisbane area.

Best Zoo I Have Ben To
Was a great experience seeing all the animals. The interactivity was more than I expected. Patting a koala, feeding a kangaroo, sitting with a lemur and playing with meerkats is not my experience at most zoos. The show in the crocoseum was amazing and was really cool to see Robert Irwin do his thing but it wasn't just the crocs, the birds were amazing too! Such a great visit

    Buggy tour worth it
I came for the day 20/12/23 to Australian zoo with my family. I’m so glad I took the buggy tour. Our guides were Anitha and Josh. I’m so glad to have been on the tour. They took us all round the park and booked the experiences. They were knowledgeable and kind to us. I think them very much for the day..

    Fantastic zoo
What a fabulous zoo! The animal enclosures are of a good size and the wellbeing of the animals is paramount. The talks by the guides are excellent and very informative. There are plenty of amenities spread around. They also provide a free shuttle bus service from one end of the park back to the entrance area. An Excellent day out!

Amazing experience with a great show
Wonderful day out! Was extremely hot the day we went but they have a little waterpark for small children to cool them down. Great show at 1.15pm You really feel that all the enclosures have been built around the animals and their needs. Good cafe.

Visited Australia Zoo for the first time on Friday 10/07/20 while holidaying in Brisbane CBD from Cairns. We caught the train from Brisbane Central Station to Beerwah Station & then boarded the complementary transfer bus to the Zoo. Entrance fee for one adult & one senior admission fee cost AUD $106.00.
There is certainly lots to see & explore the beautiful wildlife, my main interest was the snakes & birds. We ate lunch at the Crikey Cafe & afterwards watched the show inside the Crocoseum Stadium & a great show catering for ages with the Irwin Family feeding the Crocodiles. We spent around 4 hours inside Australia Zoo & before exiting we browsed around inside the souvenir shops. We boarded the last complementary bus at 15:20pm to Beerwah Station.
Highly recommend a visit to this interesting educational Zoo for all ages.

While I am a S E QLD local, this was my first visit here. We had an excellent full day and management of this attraction should be very proud of their achievements with this tourist icon. Covid-19 risk controls were very well managed too.
The gardens are very impressive and photographically I captured some nice flower and foliage images as well as the usual animals.
Allowing visitors to bring in their own drinks and food is a nice change from other venues too focused on hitting their customers.
We pre-bought our tickets via the RACQ website which gave a 10% discount.

We did Australia Zoo with four adults and a 7 year old child. Having been once before and realising just how big the zoo is, my mother in law booked us the caddy tour and it was worth every cent. Our guide, Devon, was very informative and my 7 year old took an immediate liking to her - which is very unusual because he has autism and usually takes a long time to warm up to someone.

All the enclosures were beautiful and it is obvious that the animals are very loved and well cared for. The zoo is MASSIVE. So I highly recommend staying nearby and booking a two day tour if you aren't going to use the caddy.

This Zoo has a great range of animals to see as well as entertainment in the Crocaseum.
The staff are so friendly and helpful to guide visitors to enjoy their visit even more.
Every way that we turned there was a zoo person nearby to assist with queries and information.
The program was well designed to allow visitors to see the most animals as possible.
The food court was easily accessible with guidance from zoo staff readily available.
The prices and range of items in the gift shops was very competitive and comprehensive.
It was pleasing to see so many water bottle filling stations everywhere. Just great.
This was a really wonderful experience for us and we will definitely visit again soon.
Highly recommended and rated 9 out of 10.

We went to the zoo for my husband's birthday with 6 adults, a teenager and a toddler and we had the most wonderful day. Unfortunately I didn't think of this plan early enough and all the animal encounters were sold out (it was school holidays). We have previously done the encounters with the tortoises, Komodo dragons and the Rhinos. I would definitely do at least one animal encounter because they are sooo good.
The zoo is big but I don't think you need 2 days to see it as some people have suggested. There is enough to do but you can see everything. If you can't walk very far there is a shuttle too take you to the Africa section but it honestly isn't that far. If you have been to any big theme park eg Dreamworld, it is much the same and if you have been to Disneyland you will think this is an easy 1 day venture. The zoo itself has beautiful enclosures and whilst there aren't hundreds of animals jammed packed in, there are enough. There are other opportunities to see the animals up close such as at a photo session. Also at the koala walk through, you can pat the koala and get a photo taken for free.I recommend you do this at about 4.30pm when the koalas are awake , walking around and eating. They are so close it is amazing. There are a few shows to see. The busiest is the Croc show. On the school holidays the Irwins do the show which is a highlight. However it is also very very busy. If you want to grab a good seat and lunch beforehand you need to go an hour before the show as every single person will be lining up for their lunch too!! Unfortunately the animal hospital tour was closed due to staff shortages but you can take a "sneak peak" for an extra $2 on your ticket and I thought it was worth doing this. You can see them doing live operations on the animals through the windows. Overall a great day. Next time I will book earlier!! PS You can get 10% off tickets with the Entertainment card

Staff are friendly, animals are cared for to high standards, park is clean and tidy and there is plenty to do. We did a giraffe encounter and it was lovely. All money paid on animal Encounters goes back into those animals.
There’s a large selection of food And it’s not as expensive compared to other theme parks.
The Irwin’s and the staff have created a beautiful place and I suggest it to overseas travellers and of course over land travellers to witness Australian wildlife and of course other countries.

Being a huge animal lover, I made sure I got the very first Greyhound bus to the zoo so I was there before the doors even opened. I also got the very last Greyhound bus back to Brisbane so left shortly before the zoo closed for the day. Despite this, I still could have done with more time there! I had paid extra to visit the wildlife hospital which I decided to do at the end of the day, however I ran out of time and did not get to visit which I was sad about, but hey, it's something I can look forward to doing next time I'm there! I guess I'll go there first thing next time. We had a massive downpour around lunchtime so I had to shelter for a while. Eventually when I realised that the rain was not easing up anytime soon, I bought a poncho like most other people and braved walking around in the rain to see the rest of the animals (it was certainly an experience!). The rain meant that some animals hid inside etc. but overall I still got to see all the animals that I wanted to. The rain finally eased just in time for me to spend some time with the kangaroos at the end of the day which I absolutely loved. They had so much space to roam around which was great. I loved Bindi's Island and seeing all the lemurs up close. The Crocoseum show was really fun (loved the tributes to Steve Irwin) and I listened to some educational talks (the otters and tortoises) throughout the day which were really interesting. All the zoo staff were friendly and enthusiastic and happy for you to come up and ask questions about an animal and pet them etc. Every enclosure had some interesting and educational information on the animals too which I thought was great. One day simply was not long enough for me and I will absolutely have to go back next time I am around that area in Australia!

We are members of our local zoo which is one of the best in the world (and who works in conservation partnership with Australia Zoo). This zoo is fantastic! The only negative is that we clearly didn't get enough time to spend there. We got to hold a koala (for about 30 seconds, but worth it!). The crocodile show (which we've seen on TV) is hand's down better in person! My warning to people visiting the zoo from a cruise ship... the zoo is roughly an hour from Brisbane. We were in port for 12 hours but were only allowed 6 hours (including the 2 hour commute) to see the zoo which is really poor planning on our the cruise ship's Excursions team. But any time (how long or how little) is well worth it!

Thought Australia Zoo would be another tourist destination but I was pleasantly surprised. The park is well maintained and the whole operation extremely well run. There is excellent carparking, undercover, open air café with seating and views across different areas at reasonable prices. Throughout the park is a wide path which accommodates prams, wheelchairs and walkers. There are numerous areas which separate the animals into compounds or fenced open spaces you can walk through. Amenities are located conveniently camouflaged around the park and clean. Staff are easily identifiable. We got the distinct impression that care for the animals and were ready to answer any questions. The crocodile show was very informative and was not like they were training the animals to perform. All in all I would highly recommend Australia Zoo for a full day experience, regardless of your age or physical ability. Wonderful to see and will go back when I next return to Queensland.
