This tour far exceeded my expectations. I took my 6 year old, he was very interested in what was said. The walk was easy for him, and not too long or far. Believe them about the temperature in the mine. We wore pants and light...More

We've visited salt mines and other mining museums, but this tour is likely the most authentic you will ever find. We were paired with a tour guide and outfitted with a battery pack, head lamp and hard hat, and we set out for the mine....More

This tour really brings home what european immigrants went through when they came to Canada in search of a better life. The history of the whole area of Crowsnest Pass is fascinating. Our children loved it and benefitted from the understanding of how hard people...More

Thank you for your review. It's definitely amazing learning all the history the Crowsnest Pass has to offer, especially all of the coal mine history in this town.

The tour of the mine is like nothing else I've done before. Being in the actual old mine in the cold and dark, wearing hard hat and headlamp, it really makes the history come alive!

This tour is one of a kind. We wore hardhats with large battery powered lamps. It's cold in the mine, so bring a jacket. The experience was like walking back in time and our guide was well versed and had a great presentation.

We went to this coal mine tour never expecting such a wonderful history lesson. The staff was excellent and it was well worth the tour. Don't miss it. A great hidden jewel near Franks Slide.

My family took the tour through the underground mine - it was so neat to experience a form of mining that isn't used in North America (or barely now). My husband's family are miners who mined near Drumheller, so seeing this type of mine was...More

unfortunately no. The mine closes for tours I believe on Labour day weekend and opens again in the spring. You live in Calgary? It's well worth the trip in the summer!

Go east, just past Frank Slide there will be a sign to turn North (left). Follow the road and turn left after the ice cream shop (there are signs) and follow the road down.
