Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A fun day at the races! During the Christmas holiday, parking fills up fast, so if you have not already reserved a spot (We came from America and did not realize we had to do this early), our advice is to park at the Travelodge, an easy walking distance for 6 pounds. Gates open at 10:30, and we would advise getting there around 10:45/11 o'clock. It's less crowded then, so plan your bathroom and food concession trips early on. If they have giveaways, you will be in time – this year Ladbroke scarves and jumpers. The lines for everything are quite long once the place fills up. Also, if you want to avoid the very long clubhouse bathroom line, cross the track to the bathroom trailers in the infield. No wait, and very clean. After reading other reviews on how horrifying the bathrooms were, this was an excellent option. You can watch the race from that side too, and have an excellent view of the last fence for the Chase racing, and it's kind of cool to hear the crowd roar from the other side as the horses come to the finish line. Plenty of bookies available for betting, good food, plenty of drink as well. It's fun to watch the horses in the paddock parade, and make your final decisions about betting after seeing them. If You had out in December, dress warmly! Cheers!

We've been going to the panoramic restaurant for years for evening racing but sadly things have gone downhill since the pandemic. The food is now a hefty £69pp - it used to be a la carte and you could get a main for £15 and a starter for £8.
The food offering is ok, but not as good as it was with little variety. The staff are brilliant and very friendly and the racing itself is great fun. The major reason I wouldn't return is to order a drink instead of asking the waiter/ess "gin and tonic please" there is an awful small ipad thing, you have to order the drinks from that. It's hopeless. Hard to read and doesn't work properly, we spend so long tapping in drinks, so awkward, and at the end it didn't work and we spent ages waiting for them to sort it out, as the whole system died. The staff hate the system and told me it goes wrong a lot and customers are confused as to why they can't order from staff.
I'm sorry to have to write this. I was going to host quite a few here in June but this put me off. If they went back to a la carte and took drink orders properly I'd go again.

Attended on Tuesday 19th October with a group of 16 people in the Panoramic Restaurant. The views over the race course were superb. We did the dining experience, including a 3 course meal, which was perfectly adequate for the venue and price. The staff were very attentive, and friendly, especially the restaurant manager. Overall a really good experience and decent value for money. Would highly recommend!

Very Disappointed. First time since restrictions lifted.
1. After being closed for months you should have been prepared. Luke warm wine.
2 Ridiculous price £7.30 for 175mil wine
3 Wine very limited in choice. White wine choice was Grenache, surely more popular would have been Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon blanc.
4. Using the app proved to be a nuisance, what is wrong with staff serving at table.
5 Seating benches all put in a line offering no social distancing.
6 Security being very selective with who was wearing masks
I can appreciate we are in difficult times but I was at Windsor Races Two weeks ago and it was a completely difference enjoyable experience.

i tried to eat one of the horses because it was part of the two restaurants at the racecourse, and to my surprise i was kicked in the gut and flew through the wall, ultimately collapsing the restaurant itself, i am looking to sue for the cost of my back surgery. finally above of all of this, i was told to leave afterwards for “trying to eat a competitive horse”. it was a terrible experience and i won’t be coming back

My son and I are trying to get to all the Group 1 and Grade 1 races in the UK. So The King George at Kempton is part of that list. £30 ticket is not expensive for a main event. Getting to the Free Parking area , I thought I was going on Safari, they might have at least attempted to fill the holes in. The new stand looks ok and provides a good view of the track. The track itself is very good and exciting fast jumps test. The paddock is awful, wet slippy grass, there is no room. Then there is the price of food and drink, the most expensive for any track I have ever been to. Leaving was very frustrating, over an hour and 30 minutes to get off the track in our car. When later I found there was only 11k at the track, I hate to think what it would have been like with 20k. All in all, a track that has great potential is not very well managed. I wont go back.

We attended on weds 10th august and have to say it was wonderful! From moment we arrived staff were ultra friendly and couldn’t do enough for you and onto the restaurant! We booked the panoramic restaurant, the tables and views were magnificent, the waitress good but special mention to the restaurant manager Sam who was outstanding! One of our party wasn’t overly keen on her main meal but didn’t make a fuss she eat what she could but the manager Sam picked up on this, come to table to say hi and asked what had been the problem, on explaining she kindly offered us a cheeseboard as a gesture of goodwill which we all thought was very kind of her. We will 100% be booking again everything is just great including the facilities available and the setting of the track itself. Super experience

What a terrible event. From the moment you enter the car park you are greeted with aggressive car park staff who provide unclear instructions.
The event itself is full of people smoking. Why are the staff not stopping smoking at the event? Kids shouldn’t have to suffer constant smoke in their faces.
The event was dangerously overcrowded. Fireworks average at best.
When exiting the car park it was pure bedlam. 0 staff to guide cars out nicely. It was over 90 minutes to get out.
An incredibly poor event, 0 staffing, 0 care for attendees or children. I will never be going back.

We decided to dine while we were at the races earlier this month and it made a nice change from just going racing especially on a cold day. We were given a table with an excellent panoramic view of the racecourse, the food was very good, and there were people on hand to place bets for us. Highly recommended for a treat!

Great day in the Premier Enclosure for the Boxing Day King George VI Chase! Loved the racing and the atmosphere. Also, appalling queues for the female loos, which were filthy and clearly had not been cleaned throughout the day. Shame on you Kempton. Poor traffic management on exiting. We were not slow to get to our car but it took an hour to exit the course car park. If it had not been for car park and loos it would have been a very good.

Hi Cheryl. If you're looking to watch the racing undercover, it's best to purchase a Premier Seat as this is the only guaranteed option. All three enclosures offer some indoor areas but you can't see the racing and all are very busy. Hope this helps.

Wondering about heading to Kempton Park on Boxing day 2016?? We are a family of five heading to London for the Christmas holidays. Do I need to get tickets in advance? Any tips on the best way to get there? Bus or Train or rent a car? Many thanks!
Written 24 November 2016
Definitely buy in advance - you get a discount on tickets and little perks like a free racecard...u18s are free, so if you have any of those...don't buy a ticket. There are no overground trains on Boxing Day - so you can get to the course via underground, going to Kew Gardens and then getting the shuttle bus that goes to the racecourse or they have various paid for parking or a free park and ride. It's a fabulous day of racing! Enjoy!

Anyone know how much a taxi costs from Kings Cross to Kempton Park ?
Written 21 February 2016
If you are using the train to get to Kings Cross then it makes sense to get a ticket all the way to Sunbury as it will include the Tube fare.
