Now Addlethorpe Golf club, Prior to booking back in January for the last 2 weeks of June I did extensive research (due to my wife being disabled) to ensure any holiday booked was suitable for our needs, I was impressed with the help I received from the on site manager who helped me to decide which lodge to book this left me with only one question that being the availability of wifi as my wife would be confined to the lodge for our 2 week stay and I needed to ensure high speed wi-fi to enable a couple of hours work per day, from my first contact I made this clear this would be a deal breaker if not in place, I was assured this would be up and running by the time our holiday arrived which at that point was many months away, with that in mind I went ahead and booked, when it came to the day I needed to make final payment to Hoseasons I specifically asked the bookings manager if the wifi was up and running she advised me that the switch on date had been confirmed for 16th April still over a month before our holiday so I went ahead lost my option to cancel and paid the final balance.

Imagine my disappointment when we arrived on site to find no wifi , the site did provide a 4g myfi unit but due to the poor 4G signal it was totally useless, I was further disappointed to see only a few days after paying my balance the price of the holiday reduced by £400 this is something I would have accepted without complaint If I had received that which I had booked.

Our issues were compounded from day one by the French doors not closing (we had to tie the handles together to secure the doors at nighttimes) this took 4 visits from trades men and 8 days to rectify , I requested a partial refund from the area manager he came back to me a day later with a derisory offer of £100 bar credit in the club bar we declined this as an insult and asked him to come back with something more sensible, I am still waiting for him to come back to me. Hence an official complaint was sent to Coastfield Ltd on our return home. after a 2 week wait my request was refused in full

We were offered on day 8 a move us to another location and had that been offered before we travelled along with an option to cancel altogether that would have been so much better. The then price of the alternate accommodation was less than we had paid but still no mention of a refund

In short If I had know the wifi would be such a problem I would never have booked this holiday, and Senior Management team knew this, I would not recommend any of this companies sites and would suggest you look elsewhere for your well earned holidays

We arrived for a 3 night stay. Check in was simple and we arrived at our lovely spacious lodge for 8 people, although only 7 of us made the trip due to other commitments. On arrival we noticed there were not enough towels, a quick call to reception sorted that.
We then realized there was no Wifi as advertised, another call to reception just to be told “we are waiting for it to be fixed”
We also had to make 2 further calls to reception due to no hot water and heating. The boiler pressure had dropped, this was resolved within minutes both times but still an inconvenience and unexpected if you paid the amount of money we did. The maintenance man was lovely and was honest about the fact that the boilers are just not good or big enough for these lodges but the lady at reception said it’s due the hot tubs being filled, either way, it’s not good enough.
Back to the wifi, amongst our party were 4 uni students who planned to study and attend online lectures whilst away but couldn’t due to having no wifi, which meant we had to cut our trip short by one night. When we told the lady at reception we were leaving early she looked like she couldn’t care less.
Although a beautiful lodge and setting I wouldn’t return unfortunately.

Really enjoyed it. upon our arrival we were warmly welcomed. Shop had all the necessities you might need and the Bar was stocked and with a great view. The course is 9 holes but is really worth it. There is also a range that is really cheap and tuition if required.

I stayed at Addlethorpe luxury lodges and the place although still under construction is already beautiful. From the moment I arrived with my grandson Carol Woody Cheryl and Alex were all so helpful. A few teething issues with the new lodge but woody and Carol sorted as best as they could as quick as they could. A beautiful peaceful place would go again

We had an excellent week in a lovely lodge and made to feel as part of the family. Cheryl, Alex, Carol, Woody and the staff were exceptional. The food Carol made was out of this world. The course and green's were in magnificent condition. I would highly recommend and will definitely be back.

Just finished my best nine holes since I joined the club. Each time you go the course seems to be better. The ground first thing was damp but the fairways were excellent to play off and the rough is far less severe than it was in the past. The greens are also in very good condition.
Also thanks Nikki for your help with my game it really has made a lot of difference and the driving is getting more consistent too as you said it would.
I would recommend the course to anyone who wants to try golf or for an experienced player.

This has been a good 9 hole course in the past, but this year is not being kept up to the standard of previous years. The fairways, rough and round the greens the grass is far to long, so easy to loose golf balls even if only slightly off line and dead grass cuttings in big clumps all over the place, if you play this course at the moment take plenty of golf balls with you.

Thank you Simon taking the time to comment. We received your email. Please bear with us as we are very busy at the moment. The grass has just had a spell of unprecedented growth and we are getting on top of it. We have passed your comments onto the green keeping team who are going to address them. Be assured the condition of the course will be back to its normal good standard soon.

I used to play this course with the previous owners and over a few years they let it slip and go down hill, so I stopped going.
Under the new owner William what a come back!!.
I would hate to guess at the amount of money invested but it is paying dividends. Nikki the golf pro is a fantastic edition to this course and the bar restaurant is a great place to just have a coffee or drinks and a meal.
I was so impressed with this course I was more than happy to sponsor one of the tees.

This is a great 9 hole course which is improving every week. A great little pro shop with a helpful pro. Greens need to be improved but this will come in time. Well worth the green fee.

I was looking for a golf club to join after having been away from golf for a number of years. I visited a few places before trying Skegness Golf Centre(Addlethorpe) I immediately felt comfortable and welcomed.
I joined on a play and pay membership which represents the best value for me personally. I bought clubs etc from the resident PGA pro and started to try and get my game in order, that was five months ago.
In those five months the course has improved tremendously thanks to the hard work of the groundstaff who have done and continue to do a great job.
The pro Nikki Chantry deserves special credit for her hard work and brilliant value for money lessons. The club house is up and functioning and provides a good range of services.
Yes there are still things to improve but for anyone looking for an enjoyable golf experience, give thiis place a try I don't think you'll be disappointed,
