We thoroughly enjoyed our walk to Big Lake on this trail through the forest and bogs. The growth was quite different from the Beautiful Bay Trail. The various sites and the collection relics from the old homestead made it very interesting.

This trail has a lot to offer. It goes through a forest that is recovering from an old fire. There is a boardwalk over a marsh. There's lots of helpful wood blocks, and positioned logs, to help you. Excellent!

we were hoping to see something of the homestead but couldn't find any signs. It is a nice walk through the forest.
