A little Gem
Sep 2020 • Couples
What a fantastic little gem, based in a fantastic old building, well worth a visit, cramped to the rafters with historic items, with friendly volunteers.

Fantastic museum with wonderful volunteers
Feb 2020 • Friends
We were driving through Minster and literally stumbled across this quaint museum. The volunteers there are very friendly and knowledgeable and dedicated to preserving the history of this fascinating and understated little island. A big thank you to Roger Betts and Ken Ingleton for sharing the wonders of Sheppey with us.

Great tour guide and displays
Oct 2019 • Family
Well worth a visit. Lots of history about the local area, great displays and we even had our own volunteer tour guide. Great views from the rooftop too!

so much information for such a small place
Jul 2019 • Family
i went here today with two lovely ladies and we were lucky to find it quiet and had the knowledgeable gentleman almost to ourselves. there is so much information on the history of the island that we just didn't have enough time to do it justice and will be going back. the view from the top of the tower is a must although you do have to be able to go up some steep steps to the top. very reasonable entry fee and a well set out and managed museum. a must for visitors to the island as well as those who live there. highly recommend.

An hours visit
May 2019
Visited this place as they do the wheels of time challenge.
Best thing to do is call the place to see if it’s open as it’s run by volunteers and even though it says it open if no staff it will be closed.
Very cheap to get in however no good if you’re in a wheel chair or can’t do stairs.

There are so many interesting things there to look at and read was a very interesting place.

There is a roof top with a telescope which is free to use to look around the island.

It’s defo worth a visit if near by and the staff in the day very nice.

I took my three kids ages 5 to 16 and they all enjoyed it great for al ages.

You can try on hats and have to use white gloves when reading very old books.

Great museum
Jun 2019 • Family
We visited today as a family of 3, my son is 7, when we arrived we were offered a tour by a guide and this was fantastic, we loved it all, the museum holds many interesting artifacts and tales. Not only a must see for those who live in and around Minster but certainly worth a visit from wherever you are. Amazing views from the roof of the tower (accessible via steep steps). The museum covers fossils from the Eocene Epoch for which Sheppey is famous to artifacts from the 80s, all with interesting history. We enjoyed it very much!
