Me and my 18 year old son where on holiday with our family in Horse house near Leyburn, we wanted to find something that we could do together and also experience something that we couldn't do back home,
I googled quad biking in the local area and found Yorkshire outdoor center,
I rang up Tuesday morning and spoke to a very helpful person called Ben,who explained what they offered at the centre.
We choose to come quad biking, originally we had planned to just do the 1 hour session, but Ben explained that a 2 hour session would allow you to enjoy the fantastic course around the centre that they have created,
we have been to many other quad biking centres around the country on holiday and I must say the Yorkshire outdoor center was the best,
I can see why they got voted best outdoor centre for 2019.
When we arrived at the center it was very well layed out .
We checked in at reception and meet Ben who was going to be our instructor for our 2 hour quad biking adventure!
Ben showed us around the centre before we set off explaining what else the offered at the centre from clay pigeon shooting to off road buggies to driving around in a 4 x4 land rover.
We had fantastic weather on our day, which made the day more special.
Ben was a very good instructor, he explained how the bike worked and also what we where going to do around the coarse, Ben would stop at different section of the course to explain the terrain and how to tackle this section of the coarse, for me as a parent going around watching my son riding this big 420cc Honda quad bike, which where a fantastic bike to ride on, plenty of go to get around the challenging coarse and very stable, made me feel very safe as you are the one in control at all times, so the knowledge of the track and how to ride the quad bike around the centrer from Ben at the Yorkshire outdoor centre was fantastic and well worth spending that extra money on the 2 hour season,
you definitely come away from the Yorkshire outdoor center with the biggest smile and buss ever.
So I would like to thank Ben and the staff at the Yorkshire out door centre for a fantastic experience and something that me and my 18 year old son did together on holiday in Yorkshire ! We are looking to plan a boy weekend to come back again to experience the quad biking and off road vehicles later this year!
This is a definite full on Andrenaline rush for any one that loves to experience something different, a must do when you come to Yorkshire.

I bought an hours 4x4 Defender experience for my Fiancé for his birthday, which we extended to two hours for two of us upon arrival. Having had quite a bit of rain prior to our visit, we were excited to see what the course would be like and we weren’t disappointed. I hadn’t wanted to drive but the lovely Gordon said he would find me “a flat bit”! Of course there isn’t one but sat behind the wheel I had no choice but to just go with it. I thoroughly enjoyed it and Gordon’s patient instruction was reassuring, encouraging and boosted my confidence. Thank you Gordon 🥰
My fiancé having some experience of off roading before and handled the driving like a professional. The conditions were very wet, muddy and huge puddles everywhere. None of these obstacles were a problem for him and he loved every minute of the experience 😁
Everyone at Yorkshire Outdoors was friendly, professional and informative. We were warmly welcomed. Gordon with his many years of experience gave excellent instruction to make the manoeuvres easier to handle. Gordon gave opportunities to get out to video/take photos so we have digital memories too. Some folks would say it isn’t on the cheap side, however when you consider the upkeep of the Defender, fuel, maintenance of the driving area, public facilities and of course time and instruction from Gordon, we agree it is value for money and well worth the experience. I for one will feel more confident driving in snow now. Thank you Yorkshire Outdoors. Happy days 😊

I've just got back from a two hour Land Rover off road driving experience at Yorkshire Outdoors, and it was one of the best things i've ever done.
Special mention to my instructor, Gordon who was a true gentleman. He took time to explain how and why the car did what it did, and guided me through some seemingly impossible terrain with patience and a great sense go humour.
I would highly recommend extending your session to two hours to make the best of the vehicle, and actually learn something you might take away for your own driving skills.
All the staff were very friendly, professional and welcoming.
Highly recommended and i'll definitely be back again to try some of the other offerings such as clay pigeon shooting, quad-bikes and ATVs.
Remember - ask for Gordon he's brilliant!!

A fabulous adventure on the Quads with Lee (sp) our instructor. Mud and ripping tracks through the forest! My partner had never attempted anything like this before but Lee established a great rapport and coached her through the whole time - at the end rather than a nervous grimace she was broadly smiling. Thanks to Ben and his team for this single experience but we will be back for those 'clays'

We had a wonderful session in the long wheel base landrover. Really good coarse. We have been experienced Landrover drivers in the past but it was amazing how it can travel through such deep mud and ruts. Our instructor was vey good, instructive but kept it as fun. Would definitely recommend.

My family of 5 which included 2 lads age 16 experienced the 1 hour VIP quads followed by clay pigeon shooting. Ben was our instructor for the quads and was brilliant allowing the group to build up confidence across the different challenges on the course. It had rained heavy in the couple of days prior to our arrival so the course had lots of deep puddles & mud which just added to the enjoyment. Be prepared to get dirty. Our instructor for the clay pigeon shooting was so good we did manage a good hitting rate. I can highly recommend this centre. Thanks guys for making our day enjoyable and special!

Wow, what great fun! We would highly recommend. We upgraded to the bigger quad bikes and would definitely recommend doing so. Absolutely fantastic.
They were great with us booking using a voucher which was out of date due to lockdowns and so accommodating.
Ben was very informative, friendly and professional. He made me feel at ease being a little nervous to start off with but stepped it up when feeling more confident. Loads of different routes and just out and out brilliant fun!
We will be back!
Thank you!!

What a great place , the staff and instructors are excellent easy to understand and follow instruction. Little Dave took us shooting and was patient with my partner who hadn’t shot before and helped her to hit some clays , not as many as me tho 😂. The only slight criticism here is not really enough clays shot to get into it , could do with a few more, then on to the off roading in the land rover 4wd, this was a really good experience and time wise was much better value , plenty of driving and always hands on and straight into the big hills , it’s amazing what these vehicles can do 👀 highly recommend experience 👍

Did the 1hr 4x4 on arrival the staff were all nice friendly people and whole booking in process was easy.
If you've done many driving experiences before this might be a bit tame particularly when you take into account the cost.
Also to charge £39 for someone to sit in the back seat is ridiculous, so think twice before bringing someone with you.
Overall OK experience.

Absolutely smashing day start to finish!
Met on arrival by Ben who I liaised with via email leading up to our day at Yorkshire Outdoors. Filled in paperwork before starting our first experience. (sidenote-would recommend taking the insurance offered as you can be liable for damage to the vehicles).
So the Clay Pigeon Shooting was absolutely brilliant! Bryan and Little Dave were smashing, really informative and made us feel at ease. Will definitely be returning for the shooting alone!
Next up we had Quad Biking and both our instructors were brilliant. The course was second to none and definitely felt like we were riding more than an hour!
We stopped for lunch for an hour (brought our own as there's no cafe on sight so heads up if you have to wait between sessions) then we met Pete who took us out in the 4x4. We ended up going out in the best one so that was a little bonus! Petrifying at times but definitely an unforgettable experience! This is a slow one but still brilliant.
To finish the day we went out with Pete again this time in the Pioneer Buggy. All I can say is wow! This was the scariest for me as its well nippy but you can feel every bump you drive over! And Pete certainly kept us on our toes!! A lot faster than anticipated!
All in all we will definitely be returning with a bigger group! Would definitely recommend.
