always fun to ride the tracks - slowly

We were here for the experience - which is good, as the food we received was definitely below par (so disappointing). Good service - lots of friendly chatter with other visitors

Took the old steam train to Beeton short run but very informative. All the personnel are volunteers they dress for the period and tell the history of the South Simcoe Railway. Good fun informative definitely worth it!

My mother went with us and she said the smell was exactly like what she remembered from her childhood. The passenger cars were exactly what she has traveled in as a child. The trip is short, but the conductor entertained for the trip stories and jokes.

First, I'd like to say thank you to all volunteers who made it running. It's a short, but very touching experience. The conductor tells the stories of Canadian Pacific and this particular stem engine with love and nice sense of humour. .

Went for the "Fall Colour Excursions" tour. The train was ancient, the trip was extremely boring and short (less than 1 hour). The train never actually left civilized areas so we didn't get to see much "fall colour".

This is the second time travel on steam train! First time my daughter was too little to understand and enjoy it and it was fun for my husband and me. The second time she's so excited! We enjoyed amazing fall colors!!! While we were waiting the train to move an old fashion dressed guy was playing clarinet and making amazing... More

Had a good time. It's nice that you can ride on a train that still runs on coal. Kids enjoyed it. It was a little overpriced for what it is but it is a part of history and nice to experience.

Celebrating a kids birthday party and what a day! to see all the kids smiling faces as they were so excited to be there and to ride a real train : ) We had our own baggage car which was excellent as it allowed for lots of space for the kids and parents. And the locomotive-shaped cake was a nice... More

Very nice experience! Great for train enthusiasts. A fun afternoon outing. Not many of these left. Great history for the children. Dont let them bring their electronics! Its a historical outing. Its all run by very friendly volunteers. They say get their 30 mins early. We did and it was already packed. We got the last 4 seats on the... More

I took the kids, 8 yrs and 2 yrs. They loved it. Ample, free parking. We missed the 1:30pm train so we just walked around and then sat down at some benches to have some snacks that we had brought with us while we waited for the 3pm train. We probably could've walked to the conservation area, just ahead of... More
