This is one of my childhood beaches. Very pretty, lovely waves. Be warned, the cliffs are very dangerous. The rocks are loose and fall regularly. Do not sit under the cliffs. You can see the erosion and where the old road was approaching the beach.

Ideal beach for sunbathing however some what rocky but ideal for crabbing. Nice ruins around a hill to look at.

Southerndown Beach is one of my favourite places to visit in Wales. Check the tides before you go as at low tide, you have a massive beach to explore, but the tide comes right back up to the cliffs and you don't want to be cut off. This location has been used in a few Dr Who episodes, notably Bad... More

The views over the Bristol channel to the coast of North Somerset, can be spectacular if the weather is fine, if it is cloudy, misty and cold, it's not so impressive. The beach is long and great for walking along, especially if you have a dog for company. The cliffs are part of the Welsh Jurassic coast, and it's possible... More

If you want to see natural beauty , this area has lots of cliff side walks with Great views with great walks. The Welsh coastline is amazing and not too far from the vibrant sites of the Welsh cities and local villages.

Stopped off on our way to Dunraven - Looked really good - but was very windy and exposed would have liked to have stayed and explored more but I got out-voted because of the weather - if planning to visit you need to make sure you dress appropriately

Grew up near this beach and despite visiting many many beaches around the British Isles this is still one of my favourites! Has everything, huge sandy beach when tide is out (worth checking tide times before visiting as when tides are in the sand will be covered), amazing cliffs, lots of rock pools for exploring, Dunraven castle on the headland... Southerndown is a simply stunning place and the cliffs surrounding the beach offer some amazing views. There are some fantastic walks around the beach and cliffs. Parking is only charged during peak summer season
