Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I called in to the cafe when I was out on a bike ride. Plenty of places to secure my bike. The cafe and staff were very welcoming and I had coffee and toast which were both very good. Well worth a visit.

We spent a fun and exhilarating afternoon on the climbing walls. We have climbed before, with a guide, or auto belays, but were not confident after a long break. We had a refresher session with Johan, who was excellent and ensured we were safe, before letting us loose on the many climbing walls suitable for all abilities.
The cafe was excellent value, sandwiches, toasties, cakes, coffee and ice cream. Plus the biggest toasted tea cakes I have ever seen!

I'm a fairly regular visitor by bicycle to the Centre. I cannot fault it. It is on a network of traffic-free tarmac cycle and walking trails all through the Valleys. I'm too old (77) for traffic and the open road these days. Use these with the help of the local railways and it is all great. I live in Cardiff and train to Hengoed - ride to the cafe here and then home - some of the best riding now in my sixty years on the bike.

Cafe does really good snacks, tea and coffee. Staff always pleasant.

The only complaint that I have is the religious ethos. Staff wear the slogan "Who do you trust?" the implication being that you can only trust God I assume. Rather negative to me and not life-affirming. A better slogan might be to trust everyone you meet - 99% of people in life don't let you down.

Anyway, well done The Summit Centre. I''l keep coming as long as I'm able.

We visited the centre with our local kids climbing club for a competition. It was a fantastic day.
The challenges of all the different walls was amazing. There is so much variety of routes and our teenager loved every minute. Some of the harder routes look so scary!
While we watched we treated ourselves to food and drink in the cafe. The food we had was amazing - hot bacon rolls on a cold winters day really hit the spot.
We bought some souvenirs in the shop and these were amazing value! This is best value souvenir shop I've ever visited.
The staff were lovely and so helpful.
The centre is in really out in the wilds so it takes a while to get to but the trek is worth it - the scenery roundabout is breathtaking.
We will definitely visit again in the future.

I visited with my 7 year old son and his friends for his birthday. We did the high ropes adventure course. The staff were excellent and very understanding...great with the kids who found the course quite nerve wracking given their young age. The cafe staff were equally as friendly, assisting us with a birthday cake. I wouldn't hesitate to visit again and will recommend it to friends and family.

We hadn’t booked any activity but on the off chance we decided to pop in and see if there was anything available. It was a delight to know there was a number of activities available and our kids decided on archery and the Aerial Adventure. Needless to say the kids really enjoyed themselves. The staff were great at getting the best out of kids. They made the afternoon a real fun time for all of our three children. For sure we will be back again soon.

We had a great time. The instructor was really considerate of my little boys needs. Really
such a great place for little kids right through to adults.
The food was good and not expensive and the whole place was so well looked after.
Amazing time had and we will go back for a children's Birthday party. We went for the first time yesterday and we are going back today.
If you have active kids then it is a must.
