Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This section of Hadrians Wall is served by Steel Rigg car park. The car part costs £4 for 3 hours but that gives you plenty of time to walk at least to Sycamore Gap and back.
The path along the wall has some really steep and rocky sections but there are alternative paths which are easier to walk although they are further from the wall.

Once we had negotiated the congested car parking we walked as far as my partner's mobility would allow but spent a considerable time taking to the two excellent staff on duty. I particularly commend long-serving Graham for his encyclopaedic knowledge of the site. The other Geordie staffer could not have been more helpful. Parking charge a little steep and should be cheaper for a short stop.

Beautiful short 2-3 hours walk along Hadrian wall. Some great views all around. Parked at Steel Rigg car park. Easy to walk to Sycamore gap from Steel Rigg. Depending on how much time you got, you can shorten or lengthen the walk. We stayed at Langley Castle Hotel, beautiful place to stay just nearby.

We drove past most of the wall and pulled into the carpark near the quarry.. car park machine is a bit of a nightmare to work out.. nice gravel to walk on beautiful scenery but glad we took waterproofs as the heavens opened up! we walked to the turn stile and sheltered under the trees.. but it was a steep climb to the top and so decided to stay where we were.

a bit steep but initially but once your at the top the veiws are excellent and not far to the sycamore gap.
The only downside are the little bags of dog poo by the side of the path, if your dog messes bag it and take it with you or leave your dog at home. Please don't comment you leave the bags to collect later as many of the bag had been there weeks.

This part of Hadrian's Wall is rocky, hilly and steep terrain but is graced with the most intact sections of wall and stunning views of the scenery of Northumberland National Park. Please don't forget you pay for parking, and I would advise wearing outdoors clothes, and good walking boots. A stick might be useful for some.

I think the section of wall here is the best to walk - it snakes over hills, there are actually sections of original wall, and the views are about as good as they get.

Follow the wall out to where the sycamore used to be at Sycamore Gap then you can come back the easy flatter way just off the wall. Takes about an hour return maybe.

Can also be used to walk to Housesteads (3 miles one way).

Easy parking (pay) and you’re right there on Hadrian’s Wall. We didn’t venture too far east where you climb up a steep hill along the wall and continue 1/4-1/2 mile to Sycamore gap. If you want at least a good example of the wall itself, this is a fine example. Given its closeness and ease, it appears that being up against the wall for wheelchair users is possible.

Good starting point for visiting sections of Hadrian's wall. However, it is a strenuous climb up the huge rock outcrop but the views are worth it once you are up there. A nice walk along to the much photographed Sycamore gap or further afield if you have the inclination and the energy.

This is great. Sycamore gap is crazy good and weird. The view to the rock formation and the lake is fantastic.
