Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We took 3 children aged 10, 7, 4 during half term. We were lucky to have beautiful weather.
The woodland walk with the statues was lovely and very shaded (which was great in the 20 degree heat) and as it was half term they had a pirate event going on so kids had fun going through the woodlands looking for pirate themed characters staples to the tree and outbuildings. The Manor House is still closed due to covid. The walled garden and stable is a beautiful area and the plants/flowers well looked after. The bee information centre is a great educational centre for the kids.
1. The maze is in néed of some attention.
2. Be careful, there's rogues pieces of wood on the pathways which my daughter didn't see because she was looking for the pirate characters and ultimately fell and hurt herself.
The tea room as expected is overpriced but the food and coffee beautiful.
The play areas for the kids are lovely with lots to do. Very clean areas.
Its a dog friendly area with lots to do and see and you. An spend a good few hours walking around.
Biggest issues we found that really need addressing:
1. Not enough bin areas.
2. Only 2 toilets open on the whole site which meant long queues. I understand that because if covid they have only opened a few but with the amount of people on site they need to open more toilets.
We would definitely return again some time in the future.

After visiting the walled garden at Scolton Manor,we timed our visit to the Bee keeping centre just as the honey from the hives was being processed (6th batch this year). Ali the beekeeper came out of the processing room to give us one of the most interesting, engaging, knowledgeable talks I have heard in a long time. My family and kids were absolutely enthralled. When it comes to bees, she knows her onions and her enthusiasm is infectious; thoroughly recommended and of course I then couldn't exit through the gift shop without buying some of their honey and related products!

Lots of parking available. Ice creams, drinks and snacks available to buy in car park - very reasonably priced. Tea rooms open but actual manor still closed (Covid). Outdoor play area for children was open - ideal as had 2 separate sections for younger and older children. Tree trail and sculpture trail very enjoyable. Also daughter enjoyed the outdoor musical instruments.

Visited Scolton on numerous occasions and it's been lovely. Maybe because of staycastions and covid but I thought it looked very tired. The wall garden however was lovely. Unfortunately we did not have a good experience in the cafe, the coffee being just hot milk and the cake, was fine but three slices cut in three different sizes. Not sure about the recycling of the plastic coated cake boxes either? Saying that it's seemed that there was alot going on for the younger generation especially in the play area and parkland. I doubt we will be back but if you have young children don't let my review put you off

I had not visited Scolton Manor for over a decade now, when I last camped there with scouts. And I have to say… WHAT AN IMPROVEMENT. Definitely one of, if not, THE best museum in Pembrokeshire. I first headed to what used to be the museum building (not knowing it is no longer there) to be met with the new walled garden, the volunteers have done a terrific job creating what appears to be something pulled straight out of the past. We also visited the tea rooms, entered the house which are all kept to an impeccable condition. Only gripe I have about the house is the section that goes over “old toys” from decades past, several of these are racial and stereotypical toys which while they are from history would be unpleasant to see as a tourist from abroad, if anyone from the council involved with Scolton Manor is reading this, please consider adding a point of note explaining racial stereotypes in toys during these eras. The walk around the woods is also lovely, and I think if you have young children they would have a blast with the amount of parks on offer here. The locomotive; Margaret, has an lovely history and as a railway enthusiast it warms my heart to see a Pembrokeshire locomotive lovingly restored by the volunteers. The information centre and shop next to the railway section are both lovely as well. Only thing missing is the old museum, I remember a vast array of farm equipment and vehicles being on offer here on my last visit, and after speaking with a volunteer there I was told that those items are currently in storage until they can perhaps build a new museum on site. I genuinely hope that Scolton Manor thrives and they are able to one day build the museum building they require. If you are from Pembrokeshire or abroad please consider supporting this place.

The whole place has huge potential but is feeling a bit neglected. Some playground equipment is damaged and has been for some time given the grass growing high through it. Sadly the musical instruments in the wood are damaged and haven’t been repaired. The toilets need a deep clean to remove smells. It’s such a great open air facility. It just needs more care. The car parking charges are £4 for 2 hours. Many parents with young children would visit for a couple of hours but this charge is off-putting and more than other Pembrokeshire car pars. Such a shame with such potential.

This was one of the highlights of our visit to the area. My husband has limited mobility but when I asked in the shop, I was directed to where we could park to save the walk up the hill to the house. This made a huge difference to the amount of walking he was able to do round the property and also in the walled gardens.
We found the house most interesting, with many artefacts. The attendant went to the trouble of finding the answer to a question I asked. The gardens were well looked after and once again, the member of staff working there was more than willing to answer questions.
We visited the cafe but it was about to close, just serving the outside seating, so we did not feel so welcome here.
Having no children with us, we did not explore all the recreational activites available but there seemd to be something for all ages.
A well run place, not expensive, with excellent staff.

Had a lovely couple of hours out with our dog looking around the station, walking the nature trail up to the house and walled garden. We didn’t go into the house due to our dog, but sat outside the cafe and enjoyed a drink.
I enjoyed our morning out but thought that the minimum charge of £4 for 2 hours parking was a bit steep and that the nature trail and walled garden were looking rather neglected in places.

I enjoyed the walled garden that had beautiful roses and vegetable patches. The woodland walks are pleasant with woodland sculptures along the routes. Plenty of things for families to do. And play areas.had a coffee in the gift shop.we hadn’t visited for years and could see a improvement. Staff were lovely and informative.

Fantastic day out with our 5, 3 and 1 year olds. We spent nearly 4 hours here and only left because we needed to get home by a certain time! My kids would have happily played even longer.
There are so many play areas dotted about, so you can do a little walk, play, another walk etc. Perfect for young kids that don't just want to do a long walk.
Ours loved the sculpture trail!
Car parking I think was £4.50 all day which seemed reasonable to us for such a great park. There are a couple of places to get refreshments/ice cream.
We managed fine with our pushchair the whole way round.
I presume that dogs are not allowed in the play area because there was certainly no mess and I was more than happy for my baby to crawl around.
Well kept, no litter etc.
My only niggle is that quite a lot of the playground equipment in the first play area is out of order. I hope they fix these items soon, but overall it didn't affect our day (just had to quickly pull my 3yo off the closed rope climbing frame!)

When we would like to use the Café, do we have to pay the £2 parking fee if I have a blue disabled badge?
Written 21 August 2017
Hi We did pay the car parking but we were then told we didn't need to by the staff in the café.

The grounds are free to get in, but you have to pay for parking. It's a flat rate for the day. Not sure how much. If you want to look round the house, there is a charge. But, it's a fab place for a picnic so makes a cheap day out! They also run courses and events.

Hello, how much would this be to go in? And what is there to look at? Me and my dad are going to Pembroke so would be very interesting to see!
Thank you, Olivia

Hi charges are £3.50 adults and £2.35 children/concessions parking is £2.00 all day.
There is plenty to see in the manor with rooms furnished in the style of the time with maniquins dressed in period costume.
There is a walled garden it is in the early stages yet but will mature. Food here is very good but you may have a wait at busy times.
There are adventure type playgrounds plus a fenced off play area. Great walks through the woods and plenty of open play space. Some fenced off animals in one section.
My grandchildren love it . Cheers John
