Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A small and very beautiful 13th century parish church. Interesting memorials and monuments inside. Such a peaceful location. The Mitford connections give added interest. Well worth visiting.

We were staying at the Swan Inn and went to St Marys for Palm Sunday. We were made very welcome by the local Vicar and all the church goers. There was under pew heating and fur seat covers. ... very welcome on a cold but very bright morning. The music was provided by a keyboard and guitar and the whole service was jolly but spiritual. Afterward, we were invited to stay as coffee and homemade flap jacks were offered round.
Check when the services are on, and make sure you go.

Set in a lovely village, St Mary’s has some wonderful sculpture and glass; evocative of centuries past. Such places are important respites from the ridiculousness of our own times.

This church has some of the most stunning memorials that we have ever seen. The whole of the interior is absolutely fascinating. In addition, three of the literary Mitford sisters are buried in the churchyard.

We went here specifically to visit the graves of the Mitford sisters. We saw Nancy, Unity and Diana’s graves. I know Pamela’s grave is there too but we didn’t see it. It’s not that easy to get to and on the day we went there was torrential rain and mud everywhere. However it was definitely worth visiting and I’m so glad we did.

I visit this lovely church often: it is not to be missed. Several Mitford sisters are buried in the graveyard. The interior has many things not to be missed: the wonderful memorial to a knight, plus Fettiplace knights in stone stacked on their sides, and a partially restored church window that had been shattered by a doodle bomb at the end of WW II -- which is ironic, given that Unity Mitford, friend of Hitler, is buried nearby.

Enjoyed visit to St Mary's church. Very interesting, especially if you are interested in the Mitford sisters. 4 of the sisters are buried there. Nancy, Unity and Diana are buried next to each other and Pamela is buried at the end of the row. Interesting inside the church too. Pretty church.

The title says it all! A delightful little church, with some very ornate family tombs (maunlu men!) from the 16c 17c. Also links with the Mitford family.

Lovely wedding ceremony held on 18th May . Thanks to Reverend Alex, , organist Hilary and Warden, sorry can't remember name. Wedding was beautiful and great when Rev comments on how good or singing was. The church is well worth a visit is simply full of interest and character.

beautiful old church viewed on a nice autumnal day, the graves of the Mitford sisters were nice to see, as was a later trip to the Swann inn which was their stomping ground
