i am sorry to have to write this review but feel I have no alternative as the result of my previous complaint has been severely mishandled. I phoned the house (after sending two emails with no reply!) to complain that we had not been informed that there was no way of seeing more than the first floor of the house.... More

My husband and I spent a Sunday afternoon at Bowood during the winter. Although the house and gardens are beautiful, I feel that the prices they charge for entry are extortionate! When my nieces and nephews visited, we couldn't afford to go as a family because of the expense. The gardens are beautiful though especially in spring with the breathtaking... More

My parents brought me here as a child and it always held happy memories for me so I have taken my children, my step children as well as my brothers and their children on several occasions. It is still a fabulous day out for children with one of the best slides ever and lots more in the play area. There... More

We have just enjoyed an excellent visit to Bowood. We took the Hidden Gardens tour, which was a very good way of seeing the gardens around the house and the parkland. The guide gave a very good explanation of the history of the house and how the grounds had developed, it was particularly interesting to see the gardens immediately behind... More

I visit Bowood regularly with my young son but have also taken my family when they visit and they all love it. The walks around the estate are fantastic, it's beautifully kept. The waterfall is a must see. The adventure park is much bigger than I expected, it is definitely possible to spend an entire day in just this section... More

Stunningly beautiful and maintained to the highest standard. Spent the day just wandering and admiring the trees, rhodedendrums and sitting in the peace and tranquility of the surroundings.

My wife and I were fortunate enough to use our Historic Houses association tickets to get in with .There is 2000 acres of ground to cover with some hidden niches such as the cascade and boathouse .The grounds were designed by Capability Brown and does have easy access for disabled and prams . There is plenty of seating facilities along... More

We had a lovely day celebrating my husbands works summer party held in the grounds of this beautiful house and gardens. We also had entry to the house which enjoyed a leisurely visit viewing all the portraits followed by a walk around the gardens and grounds. We finished off with a walk around the lake discovering the hidden gems of... More

I attended Bowood house recently to attend the Air Training Corps 75th anniversary parade. I cannot comment on the entry price as we got free admission for the event. The house was quite a sight to see and we ventured inside. You can only go in to a few of the rooms but I did enjoy how they were set... More

Don't bother to go here if you are looking for an old house to look round. Only a few rooms and a staircase to view and they are filled with artwork including one Turner. The gardens and lake are beautifully laid out (what else would you expect from Capability Brown) and there is a walk round the lake to the... More
