Nov 2017 • Family
Our family came here for a wine tour and lunch. Beautiful grounds. Informative tour, also a family member of the winery. The food was pretty good compare the what Uruguay tends to put out. You have to book online beforehand. Found my favourite white so far in this country. Only complaint is what we paid for the wines at the winery we ended up finding cheaper at Devoto and Disco. That should not be!

Sept 2017 • Friends
We were at the winery last Friday, September 8th, 2017 for a degustation with lunch.
We were a group of six and had a wonderful time. The tour with Franco was very nice and the food and degustation was very good, inspite of the fact that the location and menu had to be adapted by the winery because an event.
We also bought lots of wine to bring for family and friends as a gift. However we felt unhappy when we found the same wines much cheaper at all of the supermarkets in Montevideo.
We bought six bottles of Viejo wine at U$30 dollars each ( UY870) and at the supermarket was U$15,50 dollars (UY450) and the Merlot wine we bought three bottles at U$18 dollars (UY 522) and it was U$ 9 dollars each (UY260) at the supermarket, as examples. Almost half of the price.
We regret that after such a good experience we ended up with this bad feeling.

Franco thank you for the amazing time that you provide us. We stayed one day tasting the great wines and food and also knowing more about the winery history. Franco was a great host, so fun.

Well, our visit was simply amazing! Franco conducted our tour in the wineyard with great hospitality, giving us many interesting details about their wine production. The place where the wineyard is located is also amazing, very beautiful, and the nice weather made the visit even more special! The food, fondly prepared by the Chef Gabriel was amazing; ALL dishes were absolutely delicious!!! The wine tasting, perfectly harmonized with the dishes were equally amazing! By far, the most exclusive and nicest wineyard visit me and my wife have ever been! Highly recommended!

Franco was a great host. The place/setting is beautiful and the wines were the best that we had in our 11 days stay in Uruguay. Now that we're hooked on these wines, we have to figure out a way to get future vintages back to the United States because the case that we bought won't last that long!

We did this tour after seeing Antigua Bodega Stagnari, and I'm glad we did that one first. This tour was very abbreviated in comparison. We saw the winery, but not really the vineyard. It was worth doing in conjunction with the other bodega, but I wouldn't drive all the way out here from Montevideo just for this one.
The tasting was nice. We tried four wines as well as some breads, cheeses, and olives/cherries. Our guide had a lot of recommendations about Montevideo/Uruguay, so I would recommend scheduling this earlier in your trip so you can incorporate some of the ideas.

Hola!
Saludos!

H. Stagnari is about 30 minutes outside of Montevideo and an incredible wine excursion, for a reasonable fee they send a car that takes you to the winery and picks you up at your convenience, and do not confuse H. Stagnari, with his sister's winery net door. Franco Stagnari led an in-depth tour and wine tasting, and as crush was on for that day, led our small group to the crush shed to join his father and dad. I had the impression that if you volunteered, you could work the day if you wanted. The wines were great, but where Franco and the team excelled was during the more formal tasting in the restaurant. As I developed more interest in Tannats, Franco changed the wines I tasted and worked with the on premise chef, who was cooking for just several of us that day, and redid the accompanying lunch menu to accompany the wines. A unique and wonderful experience with an emphasis on the guest and learning about the bodega and family.

We went to H Stagnari without a booking on a drizzling Saturday morning, following a tip from a local.
After an unexciting visit to Bouza, here we had an awesome experience. The guide Franco was very attentive and spent 1h walking us around the fields and production structure lecturing us on grapes, wine and the Stagnari history.
Afterwards, we had a great tasting of their wines paired with cheeses. Bought a handful of bottles, which were fairly priced for such good quality.
A must for the wine traveler in Montevideo.

Interesting and exceptional wines. This family owned vineyard should be on your list. Franco Stagnari, son of the owners guided us with much personal attention and presented 4 wines - all delicious - the Tannat was outstanding. Unique was the Blue wine a blend of 4 wines which result in a stunning aqua blue color - it is just being introduced to the market now. Be sure to look for it.

We visited this winery at the end of a day visiting wineries in this area. We were made feel very welcome and we tried an exceptional range of red and white wines. It was a great finish to a marvellous day.
