My daughter and I had a great ride here. The horses are beautifully cared for and well schooled. They were safe enough for me (typical mum, had ponies as a kid, now rides a couple of times a year) but not dead in the mouth and sides. Kay was incredibly flexible and kind, getting back to me quickly. Esteban was... More

Thanks for your kind comments, it often is the case with mothers or fathers and daughters, that the parent is helping their daughter to fullfull their dreams. In the last few years it is more and more difficult to find quality trail rides with quality horses. Our horses are comfortable on the trail and at fiestas with hundreds of other... More

Being a regular rider ( I ride English and cowboy dressage ) I wanted a place to ride where I could learn and have a good time. And boy did I find it! I went on a 2 hour morning ride with Estaban and Rojo (my horse) through towns and forests and mud puddles :) Rojo was just amazing to... More

We are always happy to provide private or semi private rides to more experienced riders and well as other rider levels. Matching horse and riders is very important to provide a good experience for all riders. We specialize in small group rides so we can tailor each ride to rider's wishes. Rojo is a great example of a smooth gaited... More

Kay stayed in touch with us regarding our ride so we knew exactly what to expect and where to meet her (we lodged elsewhere). What we didn't expect was the great conversation with everyone on the ride - that made it even more interesting. Kay took great care to explain all we needed to know about riding, since my husband... Our Forest to Sea tour is very popular, but not for rider's with no experience. Because you ride our horses, rather than just going for a ride, it is important to know how to control your horse before attempting to "go faster". Safety is so important because we want our riders to ride for a lifetime. Age is not an... More

I received a quick response to my inquiry about taking my daughter for a trail ride. The owner was gracious enough to pick us up and drop us off at our house for a small fee. The horses were well behaved and well cared for. The ranch is absolutely beautiful! We enjoyed a two hour tour through the "horse community"... More

We booked a last minute ride while staying in Tamarindo. We were feeling a little disappointed with our experiences up to this point- feeling like the tour companies promise one thing and then deliver something else. We had been trying to make the best of it. I grew up having my own horses and was upset by what I saw... More

We are so happy we could make your ride special. It is true you have to ride our horses, not just go for a ride, and we were happy your husband enjoyed Pony Boy. We too are sad about how some horses are treated in many of the tourist trail rides. We enjoy taking a little extra time teaching new... More

Our second visit with Estaban, Kay and their beautiful horses was most excellent! We rode to nearby villages, experiencing the real Costa Rica without tourists (except us). The guest houses are clean and the food amazing. Truly a place for fun and relaxing. We saw Howler monkeys too! Kay told me in 2013 that our son who is very allergic... More

We are so happy all worked out with Grant and he became quite a confident rider. We do have less problems with allergies with our horses because the are always washed before they are ridden. It was also great that you saw monkeys, they are a real treat to watch in the wild. We hope your family will return again... More

Luckily I did not book a touristic tour "nose-tail" by some of the companies offering riding tours near Tamarindo. I wanted a good ride with some challengers and a nice tour. At first, I send a mail to the ranch. But nobody answered my mail. Then I called them, and was warmly welcomed to a ride the next day. So... More

Thanks for your kind comments. We are happy you were able to have a private ride with Esteban, he is a great teacher and trainer. Our horses are well trained, but they are more of a challenge than the "nose to tail" variety tourists often ride. It is good to learn the basics of riding to prepare you for future... More

I like to do a horseback ride on every vacation, and sometimes even do vacations just to ride horses for a week. So, when we decided on Costa Rica, I started researching options to ride horses once while we were in Tamarindo. I found this Casagua Horse Tours here on Tripadvisor and emailed them to find out what was available.... More

We rode on excellent and well trained horses with Esteban. The scenery was terrific as was the commentary on the area. The horses were not only responsive and well mannered but were also very gentle.

We were immersed in the horse culture of the region. Throughout the 5 days of riding, at a pace set by us, we were able to observe and listen to continuous explanations of animal life and plant life that we encounter, including the history of the region.
