Overview

More
Exbury's beautiful woodland gardens cover 200 acres and is a jewel in the heart of the New Forest National Park. Primroses, daffodils, camellias and magnolias ensure early spring colour before bluebells, rhododendrons and azaleas burst into bloom. The spectacle of the Azalea Bowl is not to be missed in May. The summer months bring shady riverside walks and perfect picnic spots next to ponds with carp and dragonflies. Hydrangeas are at their peak and showpiece exotics heat up the Herbaceous Borders and Sundial Garden. Autumn arrives in a blaze of colour with waterside maples, sweet gums, dogwoods and acers. Exbury also has a 12¼ inch gauge Steam Railway which delights visitors of all ages and the 20 minute journey passes by the fabulous Rock and Summer Lane Gardens. Children will love the play area, discovery trails, scavenger hunts, bug hunting and special events that run throughout the year. The Tea Room offers a delicious hot and cold seasonal menu, afternoon tea and more.

I have always loved Exbury and had a season ticket for many years. However I feel it is definitely going downhill recently. The new restaurant is an absolute rip off with small portions, overpriced and luke-warm food (don't get me started on the world's smallest...More

My partner and I were camping in the new forest last week and were drawn to Exbury gardens as they allow dogs. We had a wonderful day. The prices were higher than we expected -£30+ for both of us to enter and go on the...More

Visited here for the first time on Mother’s Day, it was exceptional. Beautifully kept gardens that seem to go on forever and changes with every turn. Well signposted with information in abundance, we learnt so much. Very grand house that was not open, but great...More

What has happened to the tea rooms, it says its been refurbished but it looks like its been stripped out and turned into a canteen! Completely lacking any warmth or individuality or comfort. Gardens are good as usual.More

The gardens are beautiful, and it's a pleasure to get lost in the surroundings for a day. Bring a picnic in the summer or the cafe is exceptional. Wonderful cream teas. The downside was the train tour, whilst the train it's self was fun there...More

A great afternoon out switch family and getting in the festive mood. Lots of interesting stalls. Had tea in the tearoom which was fine but they seem to struggle with busy times.

Some varieties can bloom as early as March.......and some as late as June or July. I'm not sure of the varieties at Exbury but you could drop them an email I'm sure they would be able to tell you.
