A Victorian gem, just off the A9 and nestling by to the Dornoch Firth, the Balblair Distillery is a real trip back in time. The tour is delightfully old fashioned, beginning with an introductory video before progressing through the distillery as the milling, mashing, distilling...More

Arrived without booking at 2pm, 4 employees waited at the Reception, no visitor and no customer. We perfectly felt that we were not really welcomed, but they accepted generously to open the shop in order for the children to see it. Nothing was mention on...More

Loved our tour at one of the more select distilleries . It was lovely and more of an intimate experience . Fantastic and very knowledgeable staff and a big thanks to Duncan our tour guide.

Balblair is a working distillery in the highlands. I didn’t do the tour and just looked around. You start your journey at the parking place in the yard and walk straight to the office. There they have to walk you to the shop which is...More

This distillery is just down the road from the larger/more well known (at least to us in the U.S.) Glenmorangie, but it is definitely worth a visit! It is older and smaller and you get the true feel for the history of distilling in Scotland....More

Love Balblair whiskies and need no convincing of just how good they are. Presently have 7 different vintages open on my shelves and every one is outstanding in its own way. Also have no problem with Balblair being small and off the beaten track -...More

Hi Claire, thank you for your question. I am afraid that the distillery does not allow for children under 12 on tour. I hope this is of help. Kind regards Julie For Balblair Distillery
