Great communications before the trip from Alex, first to postpone the trip due to bad weather, then to rebook and re-confirm later. This continued on the day, with both of the guys giving plenty of information on what was happening, where we were going and the wildlife. The trip lasted about 2 3/4 hours and we sailed round Ulva due to the good weather, seeing eagles in 3 locations. We stopped part way round in a sheltered spot for tea and coffee which was most welcome.
Alex says at the beginning that he'll make sure people on both sides of the boat get to see the eagles and he's try to his word, making sure that the boat is positioned well for all to see. One tip for photographers - tune up on the gulls when they throw bread in at first. You want to get the settings right for when the eagles come towards the boat!
Of course the white-tailed (sea) eagles stole the show, but we could also see a big herd of deer on Ulva and the outline of crofts from long ago, picked out in the low sun.
It's a great trip for both wildlife watchers and photographers. It's easily the equal of elephants in Sri Lanka or whales in Iceland.

Our second time going out with Mull Charters and what a fantastic time we had. Martin and his crewmate were exceptional in spotting the Eagles and giving us information about the background of the birds. A very nice crowd on the boat and it was a very friendly trip. 5 stars every time for this Company.

After a difficult few days with weather we went on the trip with little expectations. Headed out and before we had chance to get comfortable the first of a number of WTE flew across the front of boat. Martin throughout the trip ensured all onboard were comfortable and answered many different questions. Hooper Swans, Seals, Bottle Nose Dolphin and many other sea birds were all seen on the trip. I honestly can’t recommend this trip enough.

After learning about there being Eagles with a near 8 foot wingspan, I decided i had to photograph & watch them in action.
Pre booking is required & i'm so glad i did. The chaps who ran the boat were great guys & nothing was too much trouble (they even turned around & rescued my new hat that blew off & ended up floating in the Loch).
They even know the different characteristics of each of the white tailed eagles that visit their boat.
It was a fabulous few hours spent admiring fantastic scenery & awesome eagles.
The thing that will stay in my mind was the noise of the air rushing past the wings of the eagle as it homed in on the fish we'd thrown for it.... Just simply awesome !!!
Very highly recommended (even if you're not a photographer)

I booked two trips, photography and wildlife on the Lady Jayne. Both trips were excellent despite the challenging weather. Of course the many encounters with the white tailed sea eagles stole the show but we saw plenty of other wildlife on our travels. The landscape from the boat was amazing coupled with lots of interesting information. Well worth a visit, also thanks for the tow out of the ditch guys !!

Wow, what an experience! It's difficult to describe quite how amazing our trip with Mull charters was. We took the Photo 6 tour, which limits the number of passengers to ensure those on board can all position themselves to try and photograph any passing wildlife. We are certainly glad we did. We had numerous opportunities to photograph the incredible white-tailed eagles at close quarters, which was more than we could ever have hoped for. The guys who ran the trip were great, as was Monty the dog who enriched the trip even further. The whole experience is one we will never forget. Highly recommend Mull Charters to anyone and everyone!

I know nothing is ever guaranteed with wildlife, but it’s a boat trip not to miss. We were lucky enough to see eagles and 2 eaglets, seals, jellyfish and best of all the boat was brilliantly steered right into a pod of Dolphins which I am sure were showing off for us awesome. We also were served biscuits and tea thank you for some great memories Robert & Barbara

What an amazing trip. Thank you to the guys for their expertise and for sharing so much about the wildlife. This is the only way to see the birds and mammals in such close quarters. The trip is ideal for photography but sometimes it is important just to look. Although the birds are fed this is only a limited amount and they do not rely on this food source.

Photography?
Ive seen a review about "beware photographers". My husband has a has long lens on his camera, and is hoping to photo white tailed eagles, however was concern he may have problems being able to do this?
How camera friendly is this trip?

The standard trips aren't specifically for photography however you are welcome to bring your camera and many people do. We do also offer dedicated photography trips at certain times which are restricted to just 4 people max per trip so there is a choice. Regards Martin

Their trips are very weather dependent but really worth while. Both father and his son are very knowledgeable about all the wildlife. They can be contacted via their site and there is a phone number.

Other people have already mentioned Mull Charters which I also highly recommend but if you don't want to take a boat you still stand a fairly good chance of seeing Sea Eagles flying anywhere over the island.
