With 9 USD per Person for a 60 Minute boat ride (groups from 4 only 7 USD / person) this is rather expensive for Cambodia, but definitely worth it. First, there's nothing else to do in the area and you most likely came to see...More

We took a tuk tuk with Mr Ben (details in picture) to Kampi for $10. He was brilliant. Before we went down to the boat he gave us a great introduction to the dolphins and a history of the Irrawaddy dolphin population in Cambodia. The...More

Really enjoyed this. We saw quite a few Irrawaddy dolphins and sometimes very close to the boat. Such a privilege to see such a critically endangered species in its natural habitat. Well worth the 9 dollars per person :)

Relax in small boats as you drift along the river with the Irrawaddy dolphins. It would be special with any pod but with these endangered dolphins - all the more. They met us even getting into the boat and followed and swam between our boats...More

What an incredible thing to see. I came to Kratié to see this and was not disappointed. It’s about a 1/2 hour tuc tuc ride away. You get your own boat which is lovely and it lasted an hour. The river was beautiful and quite,...More

The river dolphins are now a very small, albeit protected, group. One hires a boat that goes in search of them and then follows. The chances of seeing them, other than during the rainy season, is apparently high and we did see them. The problem...More

In the end we decided to forego the tours in town and just ride out here on a rented motorbike. Boats are available all through the day though the early morning is recommended. It costs $9 per person if you have 1-2 persons. It really...More

Don't expect to pat or swim with these fresh water dolphins, but you definitely will see them with their unusual faces, small dorsal fin....as they play in safety. We were out for about an hour to get that one special photo and thoroughly enjoyed the...More

And for us, two animal lovers, it was well worth it! We took a van from Phnom Penh (which was a very interesting experience by itself). After the van stopped in Kratie (at 1 pm) a gentleman approached and asked if we need a tuk...More

Situated 15km out of Kratie, we took a tuk tuk there driving along the Mekong through several small villages. Upon arrival you buy you bought ticket and board the small boat. We were on the river for an hour and saw the first dolphins within...More

Hi Louise, we did not hire a boat there but there are many companies and your guesthouse will be happy to recommend you a good guide. Or you can also ask the staff from Le Tonlé Guesthouse to assist you in booking.

We went in March and saw 15 different dolphins repeatedly at about 12 noon which is also said to be the wrong time of day.
