Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

One of the best beaches in Tenerife. The road views itself worth the travel time. There is a strong rip current in the far right side of the beach, take serious caution.

Fantastic views but best of all was the restaurant,Fab everything.
Not the easiest place to get to with very windy roads but what a experience.

While this is a beautiful location I think it's very important to stress that the water can be very dangerous! There are no lifeguards in winter time. The waves are very powerful and it's very easy to get swept out of your depth and be swept out to the rocky side of the beach. Be very vigilant. I was very lucky. The lifeguard at another beach told me it's a daily occurrence that people get into difficulty. Stay safe.

Serious safety incident

Maybe the most picturesque beach on the whole island; definitely a must visit. But beware of swimming there! We went there today just to sunbath and the waves and currents seemed mild - but a person drowned here today and the helicopter came too late to rescue the man. Incredibly sad

My favourite place in Tenerife. So relaxing. And so beautiful. Could watch for hours how the waves are crashing on the rocks and listen to the ocean. Just love it. Also there are some nice restaurants, food is really delicious, much more authentic than in tourist places. Recommend for all nature lovers.

Really crowded, no place to park, too many lizards, waves too big and currents too strong. Beautiful to watch :)

We read about Playa de Benijo before arriving to Tenerife and decided that despite over 1.5h drive from hotel we will make it a point of our road trip - it was worth it, despite rainy weather that day, which on this northern coast of Tenerife we noticed during our 8 days tend to be "nastier" than the touristy south/south west as everyone told us already :)

There are some restaurants in the area that have the parking lots for their patrons only (at least per their welcome signs) so the parking is somewhat limited on this hilly and curvy road so keep that in mind - the drive to this place in itself takes a while so I would highly recommend having a lunch here + visiting the beach so that way you can make the most out of this place

The water/shoreline looked very "lively" but we still saw people entering the water so perhaps the currents aren't as strong at all times as scary they make this shoreline to appear :) the gloomy weather probably added to the "fear factor" so needless to say with didn't bother to go all the way down and enter the water and enjoyed this place purely as a vista point - 5/5 in my book!

TIP: if looking for a lunch spot I recommend the El Mirador that we visited and I reviewed separately here - it was one of my fav meals in 8 days on Tenerife - that place also shares the actual entrance to the stairs leading directly to the beach, you can't miss it!

Amazing, stunning drive in the mountains. Beautiful sidewalk and great restaurant with fresh fish and canaries potato. One of the most beautiful places to see in Tenerife

Really stunning views on the way down but a very winding road all the way. Not much at other end apart from a handful of eateries to be honest but the views from the top are to die for.
