This is a nice ride that takes about 35 minutes. We left from Balfour to Crawford Bay. There is a cafeteria for coffee and decks to stand and watch the shores go by. Worth the trip. Crawford Bay to Creston is one turney road!!

Easy access and great ride across the lake. We didn’t “need” to cross but just wanted to go for fun. Nice trip for our visit.

This was the second time in three years for us to travel from Kootenay Bay to Balfour on the Kootenay Lake Ferry. Last time we were trying to outrun a horrible rainstorm and never left the vehicle. This time, aboard the "Osprey 2000" we were...More

The Kootenay Lake ferry is a nice voyage across the lake and best of all it's free of charge. Journey takes about 40 minutes and is a great opportunity to take pictures. The ferry has a frequency of about 100 minutes between sailings. There can...More

I did this ferry last year and made sure I did it again this year as I was near the area. Great motorcycle ride from Creston to the ferry.

A free ferry ride, and very scenic. Always worth the trip. We did not have to wait too long, and it was the middle of summer.

The ferries located in Balfour, BC, have long since boasted the slogan, "the longest free ferry ride in the world." I don't know if this still holds true, but it is a free ferry ride that never tires me. It is both exillirating and calming,...More

No complaints. I didn't have to wait more then 10-minutes, leave my vehicle, or open my wallet. Just wait in line and drive on when the ferry arrives.

Waited three hours. Ridiculous. The ferry itself is OK and I suppose it has some charm being the longest free ferry ride in the world but not worth the wait. Cute but do the southern route drive. Just as scenic without the boring wait. Thank...More
