Overview
More
The Dartington Hall estate is a 1200 acre mix of farmland, woodland, commercial spaces and residential accommodation. It is home to 25 acres of Grade 2* listed gardens, which are open year round from dawn till dusk. With a rich sense of history and a host of delightful features – from a new bridge by artist Peter Randall Page to a sculpture by Henry Moore to 500 year old Spanish Chestnut trees – the gardens at Dartington are worth exploring all year round. The Dartington Hall Estate also houses 41 listed structures. Public access to some buildings may not be available but any that have received funding for restoration are accessible when possible, and many buildings can be visited if participating in an event.

Dartington Estate has so much to offer & access to the beautiful gardens is free. There are great walks, including to the River Dart and two cafes and a pub... plus the Barn cinema and lots of interesting events.

Definately worth a visit, access to the gardens and estate is free and there are some super walks to discover. We ate at the café and the food was delicious, home made using locally sourced produce. Well done Dartington Hall.

Interesting buildings. Garden looked lovely but could only have a quick look as had the dog with us, and no dogs allowed through there. Very nice cafe in the dog friendly zone.

We had a wonderful stay in Dartington Hall. The grounds - River Dart, the gardens, meadows and forests - are heaven on earth. The food in the White Hart restaurant is delicious. Staff in Dartington Hall hotel is pleasant and professional.

This is one of my favourite places to hang out near Totnes on a sunny day. Beautiful gardens, nice cafe, long walks down to the river also possible. The ethos and the history of the place is amazing too. There are some brilliant events that...More

The estate gardens were so lovely to stroll through on our way to Staverton - a beer festival on the South Devon Steam Railway was our destination this time. So glad we walked rather than travelled by train in both directions. The footpaths are well...More

Always lovely to have a walk around these gardens but especially in Spring with all the flowers blooming. Picnics on the lawn and a walk out to the new deer park recommended.
