Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Didn't even know this place existed. It is by Roaring River (outside of Savannalamar). Well maintained and peaceful. Great place to have a picnic lunch or an event. I didn't see anywhere to buy food or drink, but it could probably be pre-arranged if you tell them in advance. The attendants were friendly.

My wife and I saw their brochure at our hotel and thought this would be a good take. When we arrived we were a bit surprised at the size of Blue Hole Gardens since we had imagined it to be much larger. We were greeted by a very warm gentle Rasta whose name I cannot remember, but that seemed to set the tone for our visit. He took us through the gardens explaining the setting was relatively new and a work in progress but took as much time as we wanted, sharing information and so many samples of the many fruits grown on the property. The setting is so serene you can't help but feel welcome and relaxed and the natural beauty is exceptional. The floral offerings were not overwhelming but seemed to spring up from everywhere, out of rock formations and from the sides of the trees. We sat and just took in the overall beauty of these gardens for awhile, but could have spent the entire day. I have developed a great affection towards the Jamaicans I have met over the years and must say the staff was as responsible for our enjoyable visit as was the Gardens themselves. We look forward to returning to see the development of this beautiful spot.

Although Jennifer's description on her page is accurate, we were blown away by how beautiful and pristine the entire Blue Hole Gardens property is in person. The home itself sits on a hill overlooking the gardens and surrounding community. Jennifer was a gracious host and responded to our every request.
There is nothing like this property in Jamaica. The detail in woodwork, the decor and the amenities far exceed any property we have ever stayed in Jamaica - but still maintains it's quaint island charm. The garden featuring the Blue Hole (a natural wonder) is immaculately kept. It has great potential from a simple picnic day to hosting a luxious island wedding.
My husband and I spent our Valentines weekend at the Blue Hole Gardens and we are dying to go back! Our hosts Ernel and Sharna were available to make sure our stay went perfectly. For our Valentines Dinner, I gave Sharna a copy of the menu and she prepped all the food for us before leaving ( to give us our privacy)
Ernel treated us like family and gave us a tour of this mystical community including the Roaring River Caves. During this off the beaten track excursion, we stopped at bars/rastafarian restaurants along the way and got a taste of the local culture. When returning home, Sharna prepared fruit platters and homemade juices which were to tasty.
Blue Hole Gardens is quite easy to find and not too far from Montego Bay or Negril. It took us only 1 hour from Montego Bay and about half that distance from Negril.
I would strongly reccommend this property to couples or singles, small families, and the gardens for picture perfect events. See the real Jamaica that cannot be seen in an all-inclusive resort.
Thanks for everything Jennifer. We will be back!

I see no one has reviewed this place in a couple of years. It is still as beautiful as ever. I was there recently and toured the gardens with a local, Curtis. He was very informative and knows his stuff!! it's "All natural". Orchids growing wild off the sides of trees, cactus in full bloom, trees full of fruit and the bonus, the "roaring river" runs through the property. Nature at it's finest. The water was a little murky that day due to heavy rains but this is still a beautiful place to visit in the middle of nowhere!

We went to both Blue Hole and Dunn’s River Falls. Blue Hole was our favorite by far!! Dunn’s River is much more crowded and commercial. We had a private tour at Blue Hole with Ryan and Dave, they were fantastic. They were absolute gentleman but also lots of fun. If you go, you must ask for them. We all enjoyed all of the different places to jump and the scenery was beautiful. Blue Hole is a must when you go to Jamaica.

We came here as part of a bigger excusion trip. Was very impressed with the trip and our tour guid decided to dive off the top into the blue hole which was very impressive. We had a look around the pretty gardens whilst our tour guide showed us around the beautiful gardens. If you like insects look out for the huge golden orb weaver spider in the canabis enclosure aslo by the gazeebo there is an army of fire ants. All in all a great little place to visit. You will not be dissapointed.

Although I only had a fleeting visit of the garden, it was the highlight of my two week trip to Jamaica. Absolutely serenity. The water itself is a blue/green, surrounded by lush folliage and hills.
The journey up past Shrewbury Falls and Roaring River was breath taking, you pass small traditional communities before reaching a very quiet, secluded and beautifully maintained garden. The garden itself is very small, but the lack of tourists and silence is amazing. There are some medium sized fish in the water which will come up to feed.
Further down the road, you can also enter the river- the current is strong and the water is cold so be aware- water shoes are advised.
Absolutely worth the journey, an unforgettable experience. I will stay in the accommodation on my next trip. The photos do not do it justice in any way. Caution may be needed during rainy season as the roads were pot holed and poorly managed.
