Beautiful town
Jul 2020
It is a small but beautiful town by the beach with plenty of restaurants to choose from. The beach is very popular and parking can be a challenge but if you arrive early enough and intend to spend the day at the beach then it is a great spot to visit.

Great for people watching

We were dropped off at this pretty town just as the shops were opening for the evening so we decided to have a drink and enjoy the view. We ordered Aperol spritzer which is currently fashionable and were amazed when the waiter also presented a selection of appetisers.

Grey Goose Bistro

Exceptionally clean with a good choice of sandwiches and a fabulous choice of cakes. Very accommodating too, if they don’t have the sandwich you want they will make it up for you. Delicious coffee in a lovely setting with views of the sea. Highly recommend.

Panoramic Views!

San Felice Circeo is an absolutely charming town perched high on a hill just below Mount Circeo. It is a delightful, seaside resort.

According to the legend, it was here that Homer's epic hero Ulysses was bewitched by the Sorceress Circe and imprisoned for over a year. During the summer months, San Felice is invaded by holiday seekers, drawn by the town's marvelous crystal-clear sea and picturesque town. In the center, there are two important historic buildings: the 13th century Torre dei Cavalieri Templari and the Palazzo Baronale, which is now the town hall. The panorama visible from the Piazzale del Belvedere is simply breathtaking.

The Acropolis of Circeo sits above the ancient town of San Felice Circeo. The visitors are treated to a panoramic view of the islands of Zannone, Ponza and Palmarola. The walls were made from large blocks of local limestone in 393 BC (some 2400 years ago). The Temple of Circe is part of the Acropolis, a fascinating archaeological site in which, in addition to the pagan site of worship, the remains of a number of roman villas can also be admired.

Very nice and cozy small village
Jun 2017
This small village is located literally on the hill, all the way to the top. It is very spectacular to drive up, or down all the village.

Quiet Beautiful Centre with expansive surrounding area.

We had a quick visit to the very small old centre perched on the side of Mezzomonte peninsula facing east towards Terracino and its wonderful bay. Peak season is never the best time to park in the centre we found again and we went down the hill and just found parking there. There is a bus service up from the bottom of the hill. The centre itself is small but quaint and worth a tour. The belvedere is certainly work the short walk to give you the best panaramic view down and across the bay.
San Felice Circeo as a town/municipality is a complete mixture of new, old with road network politely put' in transition, work in progress' the Via Terracina is the main road out to Terracina but was tricky to follow for the first time when you are looking for somewhere to stay. there are not many hotels along there, but there are lots of private appartments (residenzes) and camping sites with attached facilities. this is complicated by the road which did not follow the sea line as we expected but chopped around to one and two parallel roads behind the private areas. Lesson here is take your time, consult the map but be careful what you try and book on line. In hindsight we did the right thing by trying to find somewhere for one night, we looked on line, drove around and then discounted the areas we did not like.
In our opinion the best and of course more expensive area was closer to the actual San Felice Circeo town along the sea front (the Lungomare) where it did go close to the sea front. Travelling along here and negotiating the one way systems helped us and let us discover the Port and its restaurants.
Key if you want to stay there is to combine somewhere to stay with a beach connection where possible. There are plenty of restaurants and most do fresh fish.

In summary we found it difficult to navigate around, but it was worth the effort. The beaches were fantastic with the best quality fine sand and everyone was very helpful.

The great beauty
Aug 2017 • Family
San Felice is a tiny village, renewed but with the atmosphere of an old fisherman's village. Great view from some belvedere and nice walk with the kids in a car-free area. Not easy to find a car park close to the village, but spending some more time to find some space in the end is a value

Stayed here 2 nights.
The hotell wasent a nice place and the aircon was broke so i had my night going for me all swetty its was terrible... there was a massive party or something all night to early morning couldnt sleep. And when we checked out they made us pay extra for water.... i woke up so swetty and hot due to no fan at all i had to drink called reception for water nobody came. So we took from the minibar. They charged us 10€ to be specific they charged us 10,51€ outregous
its not the money its the service respons when it was 50 degrees in the room, not my fault. And they charge us for water.

The whole city was like a feeling of a ghost city.
But the the village itself and the ocean and the atmosphere was spectacular.
Exotic and just lovely. At the beach bar they didnt know any drinks but this young guy he was REALLY helpful. So it was great anyway this view was to die for so i didnt care about what drinks he couldnt do:-)
I would definitly go back but NOT to this hotel.
