There are some trails in the park so if you have more time to discover cat ba island than only seeing the bay, you can go there. On some of them guide will be useless.

It takes about an hour to hike up to the mountain peak, semi technical difficulty, lots of steps. The views of surrounding mountains are really nice.

We did the short hike (40k dong each) up to the two peaks and it was a 2 hour round trip, allowing for a bit of a break and some photos at the top. We were told at the entrance that it takes about 1...More

The 2 hour hike was tough, but the views at the top were definitely worth it. Take a picture of at the map at the bottom to avoid some dead-end trails.

Beautiful view over the green hills/mountains at the viewpoint and top (few minutes more to get there). They said it takes you 1 hr to get to the top, but in 30-40 minutes it is possible for faster walkers.

We somehow followed the signs at the beginning of the park wrong and took a detour up. The views here are stunning! Try and go on a clear day, the park closes at 5pm, takes you approx 45 mins to walk up, 30 mins to...More

We weren’t the most fit people, but we made it to the top with some struggle! We lost one in the group on the way up and we were definitely challenged but we made it to the top!! The view took my breath away.

Yeah I saw people on our ferry with motorbikes and scooters, I'm not sure how much it would cost or whether you need to get the ticket somewhere else

I have no idea but I heard they were saved from a worse place or are mentally damaged and a danger to others if let loose or in cages with other animals so I think it's the lesser of 2 evils
