A world famous, very old and very beautiful temple in Udupi, the temple is of high historic significance. It is location between the Ashta Mathas in the heart of Udupi, which is very culturally rich. The temple is very well maintained and managed. Usually the temples is always crowded throughout the day. But the darshana time is very less as the crowd is very well managed. There is a huge parking area in the rajangana which has paid parking. Devotees are offered free food as prasadam. One must not missing visiting this temple.

Visited Sri Krishna Temple in Udupi on a Sunday afternoon, when there was limited crowd and thus visited the temple without any wait. The temple complex is quite expansive and well maintained. The entry to the main temple is through narrow passage, stairs etc. and may not be very convenient for Sr. Citizens. Lord Krishna idol can be seen through a 9 holed window. Overall, a divine feeling.

Temple complex devoted to Lord Krishna and also is the place where there are various mutts present. There was long queue during our visit as it was holiday time. Devotees are allowed in small groups and the temple stafd ensures the line continuously keeps moving.
Men are required to remove their shirts/upper clothing.
There's a temple pond in the premises.
Cloak room is available as well in the premises. Chappal stand also available but towards the entrance and one may not notice it. There are many streeet and shop vendors present as well selling refreshments, fancy items.
Parking space available in plenty outside the temple.

Temple complex is a bit confusing. Especially for those who do not know Kannada.
There are 3 main temples. They say that you fist visit Chandramoulishwar Temple, Anantheshwara Temple and then Shri Krishna Temple.
Get darshan pass for Rs. 100 to get quick darshan of the God. The actual idol is very small and it lighted by oil lamps only. You get darshan only through a window.
Definitely try their lunch/dinner called prasadam.

You may have to wait a little longer in the queue but the wait is worth it when you visit the temple. It is a well managed temple. Unlike other temples, you get adequate time to pray in front of god. It is in the heart of city and hence easily accessible. Lot of shops and hotels are located nearby.

We had a short 2 day trip from Hubli and this was our 6th stop after Gayathri Tapobhoomi, Sirsi, Gokarna, Idagunji and Murudeshwar.
We stayed in a cottage on sea side on Pithrody Udyavar Beach for the night and next morning we had some fun time at beach from 5:30 AM till 8:30 AM (till we got exhausted ;) )
Later we got fresh up and proceeded to the temple. The temple is worth a visit with Beautiful temple and Lord himself.
Apart from temple, we didnt much explore the place due to time crunch.

This temple is very close to my heart after my Kuladevata OR at par. A temple very old and the town is very very old. Dating beyond Mahabharata war.
We can see the deity from behind as the deity turned around 180 degree due to the call by the Saint KANAKA-DASA.
Beautiful Krishna Statue with curd churning stick. Open from 6.00 am till 9.15 Pm for Darshana. Till 12.30 pm you have to remove (men) the upper robe (Shirt etc).
Worth a visit.

Landmark place in landmark. Sri Krishna in his small size manifestation. We were very lucky to have no rush during morning time. Temple has gowshala attached. Kids enjoyed the gowshala trip.
Very divine and satisfying experience.
