Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Amazing and Mesmerizing water fall. You can go very nearby to the fall for viewing. The waterfall can be viewed from three places. from top (where water is going down), bottom (where water is falling) and a view point, View all three. Experience of the life time. In my view people should be discouraged to go so close to the fall (where water is actually falling to 50 meter below) and there should be barricade for safety.

Natural Fall create a rocky Gorge on Ghataprabha River. Very beautiful at this time when just rain has started, with full flow by sept it looks awesome as a mini replica of Niagara. Can be viewed from both sides, due to covid scares the place is now restricted but can be reached (San weekend as of now). The fall at one end was awesome and looked magnificent. Drive from Belgavi was 2 hrs on Bangalore - Pune NH 4 / AH 47.

Yesterday I been to gogak to attend my friends wedding and through TripAdvisor I came to know it's the nearest attraction so in the noon we took a mini bus which has a very good frequency with just INR 10 to gogak falls which took approx 15min on a ghat road. Near gokak water falls there is gokak mills established in 1887 that is still functioning. Liked the architecture of the mills constructed by British. There is very less amount of water flow so got a chance to sit near the steep edge and relax for a while. Another attraction is suspension bridge to cross the river, thrills you to cross the bridge when its windy. The best time to visit according to locals is monsoon season.

A nice place for a one time visit in the rains.

The height of the fall and the amount of water can remind us of this being our very own local Niagara Falls.
Can be dangerous if you go too close and do not head warning signs.

Mind you it's only visible in the rainy season.

Remnants of the British are still visible in the form of the suspension bridge, old buildings and also the turbines.

The width and the force of this falls which falls and flows into the valley next to a british textile mill is hypontising and to see that you have to walk on that wooden wire bridge which takes you back in time...and the stone temples along the boulders makes sure you get the spiritual high

Known among the locals as Belgaum's mini Niagara falls, this nature's mesmerizing beauty really fills up and comes alive during the peak of the monsoon, especially in late August and early September when the upstream Hidkal reservoir begins to discharge excess water. Walking down the hanging bridge across the river is a breathtaking experience, particularly when the river is flowing to its capacity. A 19th century textile mill and one of the earliest hydroelectric power plant dating back to 1907 located on the banks of the waterfall add their own historic touch to the place. Weekends during the peak season can be extremely crowded. Lookout for the release of water from the dam and plan your visit during a week day to enjoy this nature's wonder.

I had been several times to Gokak Falls,as i was studying in Belgaum.the route between Belgaum to falls is so sceneric n beautiful,n when u reached there the fall is awesome, even u can see it very closely from the top of the fall, and u can also enjoy in the water of the river.there is one more thrilling scene over there, there was an old wooden bridge to cross the river n from which u can enjoy the full view of fall from the top.only the disappointing part was, there is no good hotel or resturnts in that area, but i m talking abut 5 yrs past,so might b now some resturnts have been opened, besides all that, the place is good for one day outing.

The waterfall almost dries up in the dry season. The old Shiva temple and the shopping at the historic Gokak mills' factory outlet across the road are the main attraction during this time. One has to be careful while climbing the rocks as there is no protective railing guarding the falls. The suspension bridge must be offering superb views during the monsoons when the waterfall is at its best. The road leading towards Kolhapur has lovely old British bungalows and the Kemple garden. Toilets are best avoided. One actually wonders why the government is advertising it's tourist attractions if it can't provide basic facilities like clean toilets.
