Hello Museum Staff, nameste! I have viewed your excellent Gaam Jivan exhibits, and was most delighted to view it all. It is very important and essential that such socio-cultural aspects of Indian life are preserved and provided to the population to view, in particular to those who live in the cities, and the younger generation. My heartiest congratulations to the whole team at the Museum. I am an author who writes to preserve similar socio-cultural aspects of the Indians in East Africa. Currently, I am writing on Papad Making in East Africa, which highlights the cooperative efforts the ladies, to help each other, to make pappadams at home. I am sure, that you know one of the steps in making pappadams is to make flour from Udad and other seeds. This is done by grinding the seeds in a round stone chakki or ghanti. To demonstrate this, I would be most grateful, for your permission to use the picture of the exhibit of man and wife making the ghanti in front of their home. Be assured that the Museum will be given appropriate acknowledgement and thanks, for it permission. I would also like a picture of a village lady using the ghanti. Please send the two photos as jpeg to my email. Mere bohot shuker aur meherbani... Kersi Rustomji. Jindera. AUSTRALIA.
