Very well maintain , very big ..Must see place in Kolhapur. Need 4-5 hours to see all 6 attractions. Gram-jivan gives filling like a old village..everything in the old village is present here.

This place is located 16 to 17 KM from Kolhapur. Good place to visit. Especially for the children with age group of 6 to 15 year. Variety of monuments, statue representing Indian culture, history, Lifestyle, etc. which people belongs to metropolis cities are not aware....More

Hello Museum Staff, nameste! I have viewed your excellent Gaam Jivan exhibits, and was most delighted to view it all. It is very important and essential that such socio-cultural aspects of Indian life are preserved and provided to the population to view, in particular to those who live in the cities,and the younger generation. My heartiest congratulations to the whole team at the Museum. I am an author who writes to preserve similar socio-cultural aspects of the Indians in East Africa. Currently, I am writing on Papad Making in East Africa, which highlights the cooperative efforts the ladies, to help each other, to make pappadams at home. I am sure, that you know one of the steps in making pappadams is to make flour from Udad and other seeds. This is done by grinding the seeds in a round stone chakki or ghanti. To demonstrate this, I would be most grateful, for your permission to use the picture of the exhibit of man and wife making the ghanti in front of their home. Be assured that the Museum will be given appropriate acknowledgement and thanks,for it permission. I would also like a picture of a village lady using the ghanti.
